Next time you go to a public bathroom, look at the floor. You wanted to walk around their home and cover it with piss residue and stray pubes? Plus all the other poo poo we can't see...like poo poo particles. Plus everything else you stepped in, like spit puddles and airport grime. And you expect them to be OK with that and the notion of putting their bare feet on it in the morning. What's wrong with walking around in your socks anyway?

Dude, take your shoes off at every opportunity you get. So much more comfortable if you are sitting at a desk or walking around the house. At a previous job I worked at a desk, computer stuff and helping customers on the phone, 8+ hours a day. I eventually decided to untie my shoes, let them be a bit a loose and it was a lot more comfortable for the day. Soon I was just kicking them straight off first thing at start of day. Socks stayed on, but otherwise just cruising around with no shoes. If we had the occasional walk-in customer, it was agreed that you should throw your shoes on before greeting them. This went sideways more than once with "Yup I got it." and then meeting them in your socks. Apparently this does not appear "professional".
