AFancyQuestionMark posted:But I think the right move might be to no exe here? I thought about that too, but I don't think it helps much. Town has no night actions so we aren't catching scum at night, and scum can meanwhile kill safely and eliminate the town bombs without getting bombed (as per the OP, only dayshooting triggers bombs). So no exe just makes it safer for scum, IMO.

AFancyQuestionMark posted:I think a miss exe d1 has good chances of outright losing us the game in this setup 5/2 goes to D2 3/2 LYLO, but if we make it to D2 we do have a confirmed town alive. It's a weird fast setup, but I don't think it's as desperate as a normal game with those numbers would be.

The game could also end anytime if scum decide to shoot me, the president

Or, what's the point of vanilla scum in a game with no NKs?
![]() |
But a miss exe d1 means that a 5 town 2 scum balance turns into a 3 town 2 scum setup d2, at which point the sniper shoots an either wins the game or proceeds into a 1 scum 2 town n2 with no protecting roles, leading into 1 scum 1 town d3 and default loss for town

If shooting doesn't end the day (and why would it?) scum shooting a bomb D2 in your scenario makes it a 1 scum 2 town D2. What was LYLO is still LYLO.

Let me revise, the above scenario leaves us in a zero info 2 town 1 scum d2. That's a pure coin toss
![]() |
So it's a pure zero info lylo

I am still leaning towards no exe but that correction made me reconsider
![]() |
It's not zero info, that's why we're playing Mafia. D1 and an hypothetical D2 LYLO give us plenty of info. We have all of one safe misvote, and that's why we want to get people up and talking poo poo D1, let's make the scum have to work to stay hidden.

I'm side-eyeing Meen a bit. Would have expected some setup-breaking ideas instead of a faint gotcha attempt, but tbf it might just be a bit early in the US.

I truly don't see how refusing to yeet someone today leaves us with more information tomorrow, or in a better voting spot. A night kill is a free shot to off me and none of the bombs can do anything about it if I die that way.

Ignatius M. Meen posted:"of late" IDK but I believe I've seen it happen at least once in the past year or so. Yea. But, modvoice here, for safety reasons, that usually happens very particularly in games where your role PM isn't being posted in the thread when you die. Such as, you know, this one, because role PMs are a couple of comments in the Discord. ##vote Ignatius M. Meen
