If you live near the ocean and hang out your washing on the clothesline the salt in the air sticks to it. The salt keeps attracting moisture and the laundry never really gets dry. Sometimes I use the clothes dryer. If the sun is shining it's basically free 'cos of the solar panels. Depends on the wind.
