Hello Neighbor was supposed to be one of The Next Big Things™ about stealth, ingenious AI, and especially lore. So much lore that would keep people thrilled for decades about The Truth Behind Hello Neighbor's Neighbor And How Many Corpses Are In His Basement. Then the entire series disappeared up its own rear end over said lore it didn't even implement and was devoured by 1000 bad programming and bad level choices. Also there are shitloads of bootlegs and knockoffs you can still find, mostly on the android store like Scary Neighbor 3D Horror Games. and Virtual Scary Neighbor Game. Anybody remember this poo poo? Anybody actually enjoy it??

it was a game designed for pigslop content creator streamers and as such, was slop. see also any/all other janky puzzlebox "run from a thing" games with really stupid focus on Lore like Poppy Playtime and Garten of Banban

I vaguely remember it coming out, then it seemed like it flopped. That was like a decade ago? The weird part is it seems like I keep hearing about the game or seeing the merch but I've never heard anything positive about it or met anyone who played it.

I played it it's about a dude who's son died and he lives a sad miserable life with a shrine to his dead kid (dead family?) in his basement. It wasn't awful but it wasn't as cool as the trailers made it seem so it got forgotten about quick like most overhyped games do if they don't match up. Like the honey I shrunk the kids type game tht just turned out to be any other survival crafting game (which I also think is fine for what it is but also forgettable )
