less coverage than starlink, at least, but better service where it does cover. look at a map of ontario sometime, this was pitched as high-speed low latency access for people not in the little band of the GTHA or along the ottawa-windsor corridor where 90% of the province lives. it's a lot of ground to cover and basically zero density. you could spend a lot trying to wire up every tar paper shack in the province with fibre, a lot more than $100 million.

the thing is, the previous version of this was tens of millions for xplornet and other rural broadband solutions that were unequivocally worse. i dislike a lot about starlink for loving up the night sky and the bullshit way it was pitched based on absolute nonsense, but the part of it that does exist is so much better than what is otherwise available out there.
