the tax credits were written such that tesla wouldn't qualify without making changes to their supply chain. IRS gave automakers a longer leeway in changing so tesla is qualifies again. it's not like biden said "yes, the cybertruck should get tax credits go do it!"

there's still an income cap and while i know there's a lot of car poor cybertruck owners, i doubt too many are actually under the $150k/$300k limit.

yeah my parents finally took my grandfather's keys from him when he hit someone in a parking lot. no injury, thankfully, but that was the last straw for him driving, and frankly should have been done when he hit cars. but the government actually doing something about this? nah, let old people hurt others!

it wasn't too much longer before he was placed in a memory care facility, so i don't expect he's going to be around a whole longer, sadly

There's not. individual agency administrators come after secretaries and they're barely started working through those yet (to my knowledge only Rubio has been confirmed). There's probably a shortlist somewhere in the heritage foundation

as for whether an agency action can be undone? sure. depends on how formal it was how easy it is. given there's no actual regulation on what to call your autonomous driving programs, it will be on the easier end

only if you're like a farmer or contractor, and even a lot of the latter use vans. she's just trying to Defend Her Purchase since you definitely do not need a truck of any kind to drive to people's houses to talk with them

(like, I can see how driver's assistance features would reduce fatigue, but tesla is far from unique in having those)

Endless Mike

sagebrush is correct in that there's different deductions based on vehicle weight, but if your goal is to reduce costs as much as possible, you definitely do not need to purchase the largest, heaviest vehicle.

per the cited section 179 in 2024, businesses can deduct $30,500 for vehicles over 6,000 lbs and $20,400 for vehicles under that. that's a *deduction* not a *credit* which translates to $6405 and $4284 in tax savings, respectively, so it works out to a one-time $2121 difference. could this VERY SAD cybertruck owner have found a vehicle with similar features for $2121 less than a cybertruck? well, tesla alone sells three or four, so yes

i'm sure there's people who min-max pickup truck configurations to make this work in their favor, though
