Iirc AE is one of the folks who ate a perma for just having a super unhealthy and creepy relationship with the forums rather than any one specific thing.

My favourite part of the years-long Methanar saga (ok maybe the only part that was enjoyable to watch, because a lot of it was just offputting and weird) was watching over and over again as he posted "My life is miserable, what should I change?" only to have unanimous answers of "Literally everything about it. Move out of the windowless basement suite. Move somewhere warmer maybe, at least leave Edmonton jesus christ. Get a hobby. Go outside. Meet people your own age. Don't drive your featherweight RWD pickup truck overnight in the dead of winter across the deserted prairies, maybe wait till morning to do it. Try spending some of your literal million dollars on something interesting or go somewhere interesting rather than min-maxxing the everloving poo poo out of your RRSP, TFSA, and unregistered brokerage accounts. Cook yourself some real food." And inevitably he would hear something like "Move to Las Vegas, into your distant cousin's attic suite with no A/C and a loud busy family of four downstairs who don't speak your language. Make sure it's Las Vegas because you don't know anybody there and there is absolutely nothing to do with your spare time, and it gets way too loving hot. Continue to be a miser with your wealth. Focus on minimizing your tax obligations." So he would move to Las Vegas, roast like a potato in his home-office-bedroom-cum-instant-pot, and complain that the taxes are still too high and there's nothing to do around town. I feel so bad for the posters who continued to give him earnest advice and suggestions to try and dangle the ladder in front of his face, only for us to watch as he made decision after baffling decision in what might be the most painful episode of "I could do so much better than he if I had his income" I've ever experienced. Anyways he moved to Vancouver, WA to avoid income tax while shopping in Portland, OR to avoid sales tax. He loaded up his measly belongings into his 2012 Honda Accord one day in Vegas and drove straight to Vancouver with zero planning & preparation and ended up sleeping in said car for a while until he found a place to rent.
