In around 1999 I used to have Lowtax on ICQ. Back then it would be normal to have randos on your contact list, and I was a teenage rando on his contact list. He would usually be open to chatting whenever I messaged him, though he had this idle arrogance about him that then I chalked up to him just being older and cooler than me. At some point he ran into financial problems because Planet Quake or Shack News or whatever stiffed him on his pay. He had just recently posted a review of a 3Dfx Vooodoo 3 video card that he received as a review sample he could keep. I suggested to him that since that was a very new video card that was hard to get, he should post it on this website called eBay. And then have the people on the Something Awful forums (gen 1 forums, a toxic nest of edgelords) bid on it. He did, and it backfired. eBay was really lovely back then. The people in the forums just kept troll bidding higher and higher numbers and the auction ended up in the thousands of dollars. The buyer then never sent him the money but eBay kept trying to charge Lowtax the sales fee and the whole situation spiraled out of control. He them hit me up on ICQ blaming me for it saying it was a loving stupid idea and I probably planned to troll him all along, and blocked me on ICQ. And that's the last time I ever talked to Lowtax.

My Diablo clan *_(666_DOOM)_* website now has rad java stuff like trailing cursors and a midi version of a Slayer song playing as you read about the latest NEWZ (as it's called) and stuff. It's hard to get new people in though because they have to create new characters with *_(666_DOOM)_* in their name.

Ultima Online is soo much better than EQ. Leveling is such a grind, even in the East Commonlands its taking forever to level my Paladin to 9 to get my first set of spells.
Meanwhile in UO, I can just recall to the wall in Deceit and get Tactics and swords or fencing GMed in a few days, with anat and healing boosted up nicely as well.

Sure, EQ has way better graphics, a much larger map, and a nicer playerbase, but I love the freedom of building my own character via skills, player housing rules, and its funny as hell to steal from people at the bank. Success just feels more earned in UO, plus with the release of T2A I can get my townie to the older dungeons easily enough to farm gold to finance my mage build.

I'm liking this new Team Fortress Classic Mod for Half Life a lot. I don't know if it will get as popular as QTF or play as fast as QTF does, but it sure looks great! Rocket Launcher feels a bit nerfed though.

I'm seeing a lot of positive talk about this Counter-strike mod for Half Life, but its still in beta. They did release beta 4 a few weeks ago, but its like almost 40MB- how in the hell am I going to download all of that at home? Might have to borrow the ISDN line at my mom's work.

Syphon filter had such a spooky vibe and the music was so good. The bosses were bad rear end.

Syphon filter 2 was one of my favourite PS1 games. Chasing Gregorov through club 32 and the streets of Moscow.

Lol Diablo 2 is for noobz anyway. When ur l33t like me the only hardcore game worth playing is Myth 2. I keep it installed in the root directory of c: cos my dumb dad won't look there. He'd uninstall it if he found it.
