I used to play a lot but this is the only thing I remember. I think our base was to the left of this and we had to pass it every time to attack all the expensive ship nerds in other corps and everyone would joke about passing poitot on vent or whatever we used. Also there was an FTP server to upload MP3s to play during fights or something. I took part in taking down the most expensive ship in the game for the first or second time iirc. After that our base got invaded or something and nobody could leave or we had to relocate out of the place that was near poitot so I stopped playing. I think we were friends with some russian corp? And hated some nerd corp who took it really seriously? If someone could fill in the blanks I would appreciate it as I was stoned 24/7 in those days

mittens was run out of his local goon meets group years ago because he was poo poo to his then-girlfriend and all the local goons sided with her i think some folks itt might also be remembering/conflating the onetime eve goon who got perma'd soon after the launch of the the mmo ArcheAge. at the time, this person had already been kicked out of eve goon spaces for being an abuser. but this info hadn't made its way back to the forums until some of the ArcheAge goons realized he was still around

We did team up with a small, but very well armed Russian group, red alliance or something like that. If memory serves, the try hard group we loved loving with was veritas or something similar. I still think the most fun was when we were locked down, so everyone made alts for the Corp vcbees, and only flew throw away frigates just to annoy.

dust was fun, kind of, ish. ccp's next take on the EVE Shooter might be a bit more fun but I'm surprised they didn't try to go full Planetside with it; the nature of how EVE corp battle poo poo typically works makes it feel like being limited to 32v32 or whatever is less interesting

the eve/dust integration was limited and iirc it was limited to destroyers doing orbital strikes on certain planets where some kind of corp pvp was going on? like it was a very early implementation, and not particularly good or important

I think you could still do orbitals in Dust even if you didn't have someone standing by in Eve. There was also some middle-security region of Eve that had some kind of "factions", and you could play in Dust to influence the faction mechanics in that Eve region.

I only played this game a small amount over the course of several years, but then some kind of npc invasion happened and goonsthought it would be funny to tactically cede a butt load of systems, essentially walling off a huge portion of amarr space starting area. This is where i had all my stuff because I'm a lowsec pub shooting rocks for pennies. Goon space went from being a dozen jumps for me to something like 300 jumps with a guaranteed gank point every 20 jumps or some poo poo

I joined a corp in Goonswarm near the end of their dominance. At that point it really felt like most the poo poo going on that I participated in was in service of damage control of leadership assets. We'd get pings to hold ground at all costs, while incidentally, leadership has already pulled out yesterday. That's my gooney Eve story

also I tried to get the GBS mod that was in goonfleet at the time of the bfm thing to perma bfm here but he ignored it and I didn't bring it up on the forums directly b/c importing drama was still crazy bannable Later when I saw he was playing archeage I tried to get people who could literally see the goonfleet threads and were playing archeage to get rid of him and they didn't. So the only reason he got banned from SA at all is because I was bitching about him in the dota IRC channel and zoolooman saw and immediately hit me up asking if I was being serious and for any proof, bfm was permaed like an hour later
