Spice is the obvious answer, but in the Fall Of The White Ship Avatar (A+++ pulp scifi btw) there was a drug for spaceship travel that was called something like CloseIn and it made everything cozy. Their tiny spaceship felt like a warm little home

The spice melange, I mean. There were lots of badass space bending superpower inducing drugs in dune, melange was really just the purest. The benegeserit and precursors of the fremen were basically drugged out evolutions of "buddislamist" groups who got a premonition to settle arrakis and bring sandworms there/ start a long term breeding program to make a god, from pre-melange drug induced visions.

Wait what was that drug Roger ramjet took that gave him super powers and what not? Yeah that. Although it was a drug invented in the 60s by the US military I assume, so it probably would give you just a whole bunch of cancer or some something.
