fyi imps, I'm planning to retire from (running) Game Club, right after the end of Impmas. I figured I should stop now, before I have a psychotic break and flood the website with deranged rants like the silent hill circumcision guy.

I know what you're all thinking: "typical imp project, starts out strong then fizzles out after only three years". what can I say, that's how it goes. I hope Game Club continues, if another imp is willing to pick it up. Because I want to keep playing game club games. if someone is insane enough to want to keep up all the extra poo poo I had running, I'll pass that along too. I wouldn't loving recommend it though lol

Truly enjoyed gaming in a new way due to this. Thanks for the mountain of effort.

thanks so much for running the game club. the site is such an incredible labor of love, and that rat frenzy website still makes me laugh. i hope the game club can continue for a long time, but i know that the club really taking off the ground after those first few failed starts is due to sub's perseverance. thanks for not just keeping it together, but making it such fun throughout this whole time

also great pick with aerobiz supersonic myco even though i haven't played it yet and doubt i will play it by midnight. in my imagination, one day when i have free time and i have gotten smart enough to read the manuals, i will settle down and become a koei game psycho

Late to the party, but wanted to say thanks for running this! Played some games I probably would’ve never touched otherwise and always got a kick out of the achievement gifs you picked.

Alcahest is one of those ones I hear about on occasion but keep forgetting to play. Good pick.

Gave it a shot, but I don't like Inazuma. Encounter rate for random battles is too high even without the +encounters bracelet, the enemy teams all have special moves and your dudes mostly don't. First two real matches in the game have you losing the first half automatically.

I like the idea of a sports RPG but this isn't fun

fair enough man, it won't click with everyone. I will say if the lack of special moves is a big factor in not enjoying it then you'll start getting them pretty early. The match with Occult is pretty hard for the same reason the first Kuze fight in Yakuza 0 is - it comes very early on before you have a full grasp of the systems and before you've unlocked your own overpowered bullshit. so you pretty much have to get the ball to Axel and hope for the best from what I remember. I'll report back when I get there again.

things open up a bit once you get past Occult but they're an early roadblock for sure. Later story matches also go into extra time if full time ends with a draw

: Clear any scenario on any difficulty

Not so bad on Glider difficulty, although it seems highly dependent on where the other players start. I started in New York against rivals in Berlin+Baghdad+Seoul, South America and Oceania were free all game and nobody came for North America until the last few turns so I just had to fight it out in Africa (where everybody else had focused for some reason). It took about a year of half price flights out of Tunis before the win.

Cool game. I'm assuming "beat the game" is beat all four scenarios, which I probably shant get done in time but maybe they're easier than scenario 1?

: Clear any scenario on any difficulty

i took everything i learned on difficulty 5 and brought it to difficulty 1 so i could get a win lol. even then it's still pretty rough until you get down a system for developing out and then building up passengers so some other gently caress doesn't come in and take over. started out first in tokyo, then expanded out internationally for income. the local flights in each region stayed as low a cost as i could with the passenger count being as close to 100%, which is enough to throw off any other airline trying to horn in on your space. also, upgrade to boeings, they'll double your passenger counts!

a very fun strategy game, i love it, and i do not want to look at it again for a long time. great pick myco!
