I kind of think they might just allow (and I do mean allow, it's entirely at their discretion) elections because by the time comes it won't make any difference anyway. You'll never convince the electorate that you need to bring back all the regulatory agencies that keep us from getting sick or from poisoning our air, our soil and our water. Good luck saying hey you actually need the IRS to enforce tax codes or the whole thing won't have the resources to function at all. In a very real sense this country is going to implode because causality eludes understanding for the vast majority of americans. I've never seen anything like it. I'm in bad enough shape that I have no clue if I'll even make it that far along anyway and in most ways I don't care if I do.
