I feel like “Kafkaesque” is a bit more specific and nearly always refers to something that is crushingly oppressive in a surrealistic or illogical way. “Lynchian” can refer to something nightmarish but can also refer to something that is just silly and dreamlike, it’s a little more broad but to people who have experienced Lynch’a films it is easy to understand what it means because he had such a singular voice.
