I totally agree. We didn't get to see the queens talking about their videos or recording them or being directed. We didn't get to watch them rehearse. The photos, which were arguably the smallest part of the challenge, took up the bulk of the screentime we saw. Then all of a sudden the queens were on the mainstage doing a dance we legit never saw before (I don't remember the dance even being mentioned as part of the challenge, although maybe I just missed it). I *think* the purpose of the videos was that they would play on screens in the casinos as a way to entice people to go to the drag race live show? And the idea would be that there are a lot of shows playing on the strip at any one time (artist residences and massive magic shows and Cirque Du Soleil and whatever), so the goal is to make your show the most appealing and Vegas-y in amongst all the noise. You've got 30 seconds to make the video count to passing tourists. I could be entirely wrong, but that's my understanding. It was very poorly edited. I do agree that Suzie's was probably the worst, but it was still confusing.

This episode was, as many noted...weird? Fine with the top four. I really thought Suzie was going to be there. I wasn't totally vibing with her but I got what she was doing? But this is still a fun top four I think! Lexi, girl, what the gently caress? Between this and the makeover challenge, though, I've done a total 180 on her! Can't wait to see her on an all stars! Yeah... I have issues with this episode. I love that Jewels won. She is VERY Vegas and her interview was just the right touch of confident, yet vulnerable. Sam's was too cocky in the interview and too off-beat for the video. Suzi was just a trainwreck in terms of the video and the dance to Gift Shop. Lexi had a weird vibe during the photo shoot and the video, but danced great. I see how it could be anyone against Suzi. But you, as well as I, know that production is setting up for Lexi to win. It's why they don't set her in the bottom with someone she could actually have competition against. She was never going to the bottom this close to the finale. And they don't want anyone working on her inner saboteur, so Suzi was gone the minute she was in the bottom. Ru loves a park and bark to one of her divas, so Sam did the smart thing and just stood there, lip-syncing. But Suzi just danced and emoted the work better. I'm sad she's gone. I was gunning for either Suzi, Jewels, or Onya to win. IDGAF about Lexi or Sam. I usually forget their parts are coming out and am only reminded of them when the inevitable happens and their production-favored talking heads come out. They come off as very arrogant. One very pageant perfect, the other a competitive perfectionist.

Yeah Suzie sucked this episode, but she was marginally better in the lip sync, and I'm surprised Sam is in the final 4 given that she is 101% boring.

I'm starting to get worried for Onya. Yes, she has four wins. You know who else had four wins? Sapphira and Plane Jane. Part of it will depend on the format of the Finale. If it's four solos, then I fully expect Onya in the final. If it's a tournament... she's up against some fierce lip sync queens (and Sam), so who knows how it would go.

The reason this episode was so weird is twofold I think. It was clearly intended to be the "nobody goes home and you get to participate in the RuPaul Thing directly!" episode at the end of every season but there was a double Shantay the episode before so they had to finagle a loser in somehow to keep the episode count. It was also clearly intended to be a challenge about how well you can advertise the Ru Brand, specifically the Vegas liveshow. Except it wasn't originally a challenge. So all the bits they got judged on being Ru Ads got cut for time (learning the choreo for the new part of the vegas show, making the phone ads for the vegas show, taking promo photos for their turn on the vegas show) and we were left with the parts that were intended to be a victory lap of sorts, like the Latrice interview replacing the tictac lunch, and the really long "look how far we've come!" makeup discussion. When the "become part of the Ru Brand and advertise for me" becomes a challenge...Suzie was always going to go home. Her brand is really, really loving strong and she is committed to it to a fault, and it doesn't mesh with RuPaul very well, and especially not Vegas. She's been given the go-ahead to never ever have to do anything different ever again though, because she made it into every single episode of the season and will for sure be successful going forward doing it and it alone. She'll show up on All Stars in a few years and lose pretty fast, and it won't be because she's bad, it's going to be because she's going to specialize in the kind of drag that does not win Drag Race.

Does Jinkx give Las Vegas RuGirl energy? Because she gives the same vibes other queens like Ben De la Creme, Plasma, Marcia x3 and now Suzi give and I find all those queens spectacular, but only Jinkx is considered queen of all queens turf. So what gives??

They basically asked “Suzie can you turn out a Vegas showgirl look/experience right this instant at the end of the competition” she said “lol no”, everyone else did so quite easily, end of story.  Her elimination makes sense to me even if it the way they did it makes for bad storytelling.

Boooooo. I've always liked Susie and her schtick; Sam has always been very mid for me. Typical "show your vulnerability" Michelle-style and not even as compelling as other "perfect" Rugirls like, say, Courtney Act. And as far as the challenge goes, they were equally bad. For Susie it wasn't even not knowing Vegas, she just didn't know how to work the camera. But Sam was just as awkward, and I think it looked that much worse against her perfection persona. I guess it just means that Ru never wanted Susie to win the whole thing, and I know that's just how the show works but the finale would be so much more fun with Susie in it.

We're still more than a week out before going into the finale, but I'm not sure I'm really rooting for anyone to win. It's been an alright season I guess. I'm fine with Lexi, Onya, or Jewels winning, I'd be upset with a Sam win, but I don't think Sam really has a chance at this point. I can't recall the last time we've had someone in the finale so clearly lacking in charisma.

I had actually thought it was going to Suzie. Not because I wanted her to or thought she was amazing, but because it's been a minute since we had a weirdo win. I don't think she was unique enough to check that box, though. I'm fine with anyone winning, really. Lexi really did the phoenix for me in the last couple episodes but I think she should have a year or two to cook and come back for All Stars.

Going into this Lalaparuza, I don't really have high hopes. This was a weak season of lip syncers, especially compared to last year having like half the cast be good to strong. Of course there could always be surprises, like how Megami did despite her elimination lip sync not being great.

I really liked Lexi to start the season but she's been so uneven down the stretch and so neurotic about the other girls (especially Suzie) that it's kind of put me off on her. Onya has been really impressive down the stretch too, and she didn't impress me to start of with. But I wonder if it'll be like last season when it seemed like Sapphira was going to glide to an easy victory and Nymphia kinda came out of nowhere to win it.

I still can't help but to root for Lexi, I love seeing myself represented on screen. Not because she's trans but because she's a loving mess. Would be very happy with a Jewels win though
