Jrue Holiday is going into the HOF because he is actually what ironic robert horry hof cases say he is

Again I'd point to Michael Cooper. Defensive ace with a bunch of rings, but also he was part of an iconic team and the Hall loves honoring too many players from dynastic teams. He never even made an All-Star team, which Jrue has done twice. But a one-off Bucks championship and whatever this Celtics squad end up doing probably won't have the kind of legacy that the Showtime Lakers do. And Coop has a DPOY. Jrue would have to wait in line between Tatum, Brown and Horford at the very least, and even Horford is a weird Hall case imo.

Remembering the scene in Court of Gold where Kerr says "half of you are Hall of Famers if you retire today, and half of you will be at the end." Very generous view of Derrick White's future legacy, Steve! Maybe if they do another Team honor so he can say he's in on a technicality like Tayshaun, Boozer and Michael Redd can now.

Current ownership and the front office of the Mavs org has no relationship with Dirk at the moment. (Outside of Michael Finley). Just another problem with a poorly run organization.

I don't understand why they thought holding this unrecorded meeting with select media was a good idea. Every time someone from the organization has talked to the press since the trade has made them look worse. They are so tone deaf.

Fire Nico Harrison.

Cooper had to wait 35 years to get inducted through the Veterans committee, it's not like they were banging down the doors to induct him. Being a Laker lifer also makes a huge difference, as opposed to Jrue who's probably going to get salary dumped in like a year and a half

The case that having a great surrounding team makes an MVP less meaningful is funny when applied to Jordan. During his suspension for gambling, the Bulls went 55-27, down only 2 wins from the previous year, and went to the second round of the playoffs, then went 47-35 the next season and lost again in the second round, though Jordan only played 17 games that season. When they lost Pippen after Jordan's "second" retirement, they went 13-37.

Stealing and throwing it off of Marcus Smart out of bounds on the baseline to seal the game.

Last post about this in here but just in case anybody else wants to join in, there's just over 1 hour until the deadline for the first round of the play-in/off prediction game.

If you miss this round but still want to play, feel free to jump in for the next round (deadline saturday i think?) because later rounds will have more points to gain so you'll still be able to catch up.

You can't stop what's coming
Hornets exit interviews were kind of a nightmare

Mark Williams on whether he wants and expects to return to the team:

“I think so. I mean, maybe.

I think with the whole situation, it’s given me a new perspective.

But obviously there’s a chance of that—a good chance of that.

But like I said, I didn’t think I was being traded the first time, so… yeah, I’ll just leave it at that.”

Brandon Miller with an update on his health:

“I don’t know when I’ma be back fully. It’s probably a couple, few months. But right now, we’re just taking everything slow—not trying to rush anything back.

I think right now we’re working on all the range of motion. I think that’s the most important part right now—just now getting the range of motion back.

Because right now, I can’t really shoot. Can’t do nothing. So just taking the small steps before we get into the back playing.”

(He’s been out since January)

LaMelo: “When you lose, you learn stuff. So all that losing, I mean, you can learn a lot for real.”
