Welcome to Seal Mafia, a Mafia game for 17 players where you can pretend to be the noblest of creatures, a seal, while simultaneously stepping all over that fantasy by playing mafia.

As it couldn't be any other way, Cloacamazing! is ~~mod~~comodding this game!

Being seals, all of you are naturally powered by fish. Unless stated otherwise in your role PM, your abilities will require a fish to be used. Every player starts with one fish in their inventory.

You can gain additional fish in the following ways:

When there is an execution, the first current vote on the execution target will receive a fish (Voodoo's You Want To Be First rules, you lose your spot in line if you unvote).
The player to cast the deciding vote on the execution target (hammer) will receive a fish.
At the beginning of every day, a daily challenge will be posted with the day opening. The winner of this challenge, as decided on by the mods and obs, will receive a fish.
Lucky fish! Once per day, one random player will receive a free fish!
Robbery! After a player has left the colony, any living player may use their night action to attempt to rob their fish stash. This action costs one fish, but if successful the player will receive all fish their target had on leaving the game. If two or more players attempt to rob the same player's stash, a slapfight will ensue, in which only the winner will receive the contents of the stash. The losers will get nothing, but their fish and actions will still be spent.

It is possible for a player to receive more than one fish per day.

If you have superfluous fish, you may barter them away in the thread! You can offer to give another player your fish, for a price of your choosing. You can ask them to follow your vote, to not vote you, to target you the next night, to not target you the next night, to draw you a pretty picture, to sing a song, the possibilities are endless! Players may also beg for fish and make their own offer. Once an agreement has been reached and both seals ##shake flippers on it, the fish will be transferred (as soon as the mods get around to witnessing the transaction). The recipient will be honorbound to act in accordance with the agreement. That is, unless they decide to ignore it and face your wrath...

Other Rules:

- Don't be a jerk.
- Don't edit your posts.
- Don't copy/paste mod comms.
- Don't post after hammer.
- Don't post after you die.
- Balance? lol
- Post at least 10 times in a game day or you'll get a lurker warning. Do it again under a lurker warning and you'll stop being a seal forever.
- Don't fake day actions.
- This is a game that jokes about leftist ideologies and infighting - do not take any flavor language as an attack on you or your ideology. Also avoid political tangents or politically based attacks on others - we are here to have fun and have a laugh at ourselves.
- Finally, don't be a jerk.

Rule zeroth: If you ever encounter anything or anyone who makes you feel uncomfortable, threatened, abused, angry, or even unsure of how you feel, there are many people here, both within and outside of the SA Mafia community, who are happily willing to listen, provide support, and enact change to make the community better for everyone.

Finally, after a long wait, a peaceful colony of various seals from around the world had assembled. They began to slap their bellies, eat fish and bark at each other. They sniffed around to see what other seals were there, but something seemed... off? Yes, it was clear: There were some seals in this colony that were not seals at all!

They would have to be scared off.

Welcome finally to SEALFIA, the non-lethal and friendly mafia game! Impostors have infiltrated this peaceful seal colony! Chase them out and eat fish!

Remember, unless stated otherwise in your role PM, you need to have one fish in your inventory to perform your actions. Every player starts with one fish.

Today's fish will be distributed to:
the first active vote on the execution target
the final vote on the execution target
a randomly selected lucky winner
a player privately chosen by today's execution target
and any player who submits a fish that no other player has named in their confessional! (must be a real fish, mods will google it, prize can be distributed multiple times)

Remember also that you are allowed to barter fish.
