The first time I heard Up by Cardi B I thought it was stupid. Once I heard it a few times and really got more of the lyrics I like it now. I noticed Iggy's parts more. I feel like the musical part of it also grew on me somehow. I don't know if it has anything to do with already knowing what's coming next now? Like it's catchy so my brain wants to hear the next part? I dunno but it reminds me of when people talk about "an acquired taste" with food. Just listen enough to a song and you'll either start to like it or maybe you'll be driven insane!

First time I heard Welcome Home by Coheed and Cambria I was like “wtf this is total dogshit what’s going on with his voice”, but then I gave it a second chance, then a third chance, and then I listened to the full album… and they became my favorite band for years. I got completely obsessed with the comics and they kind of opened a lot of doors for other music genres. I don’t listen to them anymore as much as I used to but they are a band I have very fond memories of

INDUSTRIAL SOCIETY AND ITS FUTURE

Introduction

1. The Industrial Revolution and its consequences have been a disaster for the human race.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1uD7fEd-d9I

I got pretty heavy into King Gizzard in 2017 when they dropped Nonagon Infinity, as did a whole bunch of other people. They've released like 15 albums since then and I admit, I sort of got lost along the way. That said, I've made the trek to see them in Vancouver the last three times they've played there (2018, 2019, and 2024), and at their Sept 2024 show they closed the set with the video above. At around the 5:20 mark you can hear the point that my brain melted (:lsd:). I had listened to the albums these songs were on, but not to the level I had with the albums that all came out in 2017, and so I was more or less unfamiliar with these songs. This got me right back into the fold. These guys rule.

This is the thread I was looking for! This cover kicks the butt off the original if you ask me. I originally thought it was okay, but it gets better with every listen.

I mean most poo poo I don't like at first gets more irritating the more I hear it, so I suppose that's a kind of endearment.

In fact, many songs from Jon and Vangelis or Yes in general. Hated it when I was young.

Black Gold!

I never liked The Beach Boys until I bought the complimentary compilation CDs, Sounds of Summer and The Warmth of the Sun at a thrift store on a whim. The latter album has a lot of their ‘70s stuff and ‘60s B-sides that whip any of the overplayed cliché surf and car songs.

“Sail On, Sailor,” “Feel Flows,” “Surf’s Up,” “Do It Again,” they’re all good.

I love them! You really should check the whole record if you liked this, not a single bad song

This album, as a whole. I didn't vibe with the mood when it first came out, but it started to click with me around 2008 or so

When this came out in the mid-80s, my musical tastes were way elsewhere, and I dismissed this as poo poo. 20 years later (married, with toddler) I'm at Safeway in the middle of the night and this starts playing over their Muzak system (back when they still did that) and I loved it. Still do.

Any N*Sync or Backstreet Boys (or any similarly manufactured pop group) dancey hit. Sure didn't resonate me as a teenage boy, but 90s and 00s nights at the bar is really dependent on them and they rock.

Mambo No. 5 is awesome. Its a funny song and always kills it at karaoke.

There's also a hilarious Lou Bega song where he samples Scatman John and opens up with "He's the Scatman.....and I'm the Hatman!" Its actually terrible though.

Perhaps you have not been to the *Playground*.
The *Playground* is for Taalo and for Orz, but *Campers* can go.
It more fun than several.
You can go there for too much fun.
Friends in Low Places. I hated it for years but one day I just kinda understood the hooks. What an all-timer of a pop song.
