NASCAR sucks, the drivers suck, the playoffs suck, the Clash sucks, Bowman Gray sucks, and I'm going to the Clash at Bowman Gray this weekend to cheer on my favorite driver (no one) in person

Are ya'll ready to watch some 2025 NASCAR? And by that, I mean, how many cable channels and streaming packages do you subscribe to? https://www.nascar.com/news-media/2025/01/26/nascar-tv-guide/ ![]() Edit: https://www.nascar.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/7/2024/11/19/2025-NationalSeriesSchedule-Networks.pdf Howard The Dork fucked around with this message at 15:43 on Jan 31, 2025 |

I think Bowman Gray should make for better racing than the Coliseum did, hopefully something stupid happens! Going to the Daytona 500, the last two times I have done this, the race was delayed to Monday, so plan accordingly.

This is the NAS-CAR thread. It's not the CAR-NAS thread. This is my fav-or-ite thread. Because it is my thread.Howard The Dork posted:Are ya'll ready to watch some 2025 NASCAR? NASCAR's getting into a 10/7/10/7 year pattern of TV deals and I wonder what the logic is. First time I've had to do one of these in a while, so here we go: ![]() Cup -Booth- Mike Joy, Clint Bowyer, Kevin Harvick, Larry McReynolds -Pits- 2-3 of Jamie Little, Josh Sims, Regan Smith, Michael Waltrip (Daytona) -Host- Chris Myers, Jamie McMurray (Daytona) Nothing has changed here from the past few years. This is the 25th season for NASCAR on FOX (Jesus Christ) and only Joy, McReynolds, and Myers remain from the original crew. TRUX -Booth- Jamie Little, usually at least one Cup guy out of Harvick/Logano/Keselowski, Michael Waltrip (if they don't use two Cup guys) -Pits- Amanda Busick, Josh Sims, Regan Smith (rotating) With Adam Alexander moving to CW/Prime/TNT, FOX could've brought Rick Allen home. Instead, it appears we're stuck with (sigh) Jamie Little. Look, I'm all for equality in broadcasting and every other facet of life, but she sucks in a PBP role. She needs to watch Shea Adam's calls of the MX-5 Cup races from Daytona on infinite repeat to see how it's done. This is the announced crew for Daytona and may be because Phil Parsons is doing ARCA. Unclear if he and Mikey will do later races. ARCA-Booth- Jamie Little/Eric Brennan, Trevor Bayne, Phil Parsons -Pits- Amanda Busick, Kaitlyn Vincie LOL ARCA. PRETEND I PUT THE NASCAR ON PRIME LOGO HERE Cup -Booth- Adam Alexander, Dale Earnhardt, Jr., Steve Letarte -Pits- Trevor Bayne, Kim Coon, Marty Snider -Hosts- Danielle Trotta, Carl Edwards, Corey Lajoie Prime makes its debut and this crew has the potential to be really good. Carl Edwards comes out of hiding to become a studio analyst. You'd have thought the parties involved would've put the Prime races on one of the Turner networks somewhere but, nah, let's stick these exclusively behind a paywall because streaming is the FUTURE! All the kids are doin' it! Get offa mah lawn. Cup -Booth- Adam Alexander, Dale Earnhardt, Jr., Steve Letarte -Pits- Alan Cavanna, Marty Snider, Danielle Trotta -Hosts- Shannon Spake, Jamie McMurray, Parker Kligerman -Altcast (TruTV)- Jeff Burton, Larry McReynolds TNT returns after 10 years away, sharing some of the same talent with Prime. I'll be curious to see if they keep the retread pit reporters from NBC and FOX or bring in people like Matt Yocum or Ralph Sheheen. Prime and Turner Sports will split practice and qualifying except for the Clash, Daytona 500, and All-Star Race, which will be on FOX. Turner Sports (including TruTV) takes over when TNT gets coverage. ![]() Cup -Booth- Leigh Diffey, Jeff Burton, Steve Letarte -Pits- 2-3 of Dave Burns, Marty Snider, Kim Coon, Dillon Welch -Hosts- Marty Snider, some combination of Dale Jarrett, Kyle Petty, Brad Daugherty (probably) Rick Allen. Seriously, good loving riddance. I was hoping he might wind up doing Trucks on FOX, as maybe they'd just let him be himself, but there's never been a more deserving firing into the Sun than NBC Rick Schweiger. Leigh Diffey came in at Daytona last year for the stretch run and infinitely improved the product, which is something they probably should've done at some point in the previous 9 1/2 years, but NBC gon' NBC.![]() Xfinity -Booth- Adam Alexander, Jamie McMurray, Parker Kligerman -Pits- Kim Coon, Dillon Welch -Host- Carla Gebhart NBC and FOX lose the Xfinity Series to the CW, who gets the whole package. That booth's gonna slap and we get them all year. Hell yes. mearn posted:I think Bowman Gray should make for better racing than the Coliseum did, hopefully something stupid happens! It better not because, if it does, I'll be watching the race from Ohio instead of the stands. CBJSprague24 fucked around with this message at 20:58 on May 7, 2025 |

What, several hours of same day qualifying wasn't early enough for you?

That was a better track than whatever basketball court they were using before

This was a perfectly fine exhibition race and nobody did anything lovely enough to warrant revenge later in the season, good job to everyone.

Bowman was such a better race than what LA produced, but it could have been much better. If they did heats or stages or whatnot with inverts like local tracks do, would have made it more interesting and fun. I know they did heats and an LCQ leading up to Sunday night, but they could have broken up the Sunday main into stages and thrown an invert or 2 in there to spice it up.

im glad they kept the stadium race even if it isnt in pasadena. having it in the south makes more sense anyway

Why throw a yellow when they are entering the tri oval is beyond me, let them race to the line then throw it. Fun night of racing though, Sunday should be fun.

That was the happiest I've been with the duels in a long time and I was all disappointed that, not only am I not getting to go to the 500 now, but I would have made a mistake skipping this race based off recent history and whoopsie daisy, they just have to dickstep 500 yards from the line. Jesus Christ.
|
|
|
|
fortunately it's just the duels and it's not going to piss people off as much as it would on sunday tragic for erik jones though, he would have started fourth in the 500 with a win but now he'll have to start fourth instead
