The only corned beef you ever see here in Ireland comes in a can. It's... not great. It's minced and has a weird texture and aftertaste. Think SPAM only made with beef. I've seen pictures of the stuff you get at deli counters in the US. It actually looks quite good.

It was a couple of years ago when I was arguing with someone else in a similar thread that bacon, cabbage and potato was the traditional Irish meal.
