Corned beef is way better if you bake it (braise? poach?) by putting it in a baking dish with like an inch of water, the seasoning packet and airtight aluminum lid. Low and slow and it actually comes out pretty nice.

not all traditions make sense and straight up boiling stinky rear end cabbage and a hunk of meat is nasty as heck

I have two corned beef briskets defrosting that I bought after St Patrick’s Day last year for 99 cents a pound. The brisket this year is fifteen loving dollars a pound. I will dine mightily and cheaply on my salted slurry.

13 facing charges, bushels of ‘borgs’ confiscated during St. Patrick’s Day parade in South Boston

This year’s St. Patrick’s Day parade in South Boston started earlier in an effort to curb last year’s public drinking and violence, which led to 11 arrests.

Officers also confiscated alcohol, including a large number of “blackout rage gallons,” or “borgs” due to underage and public drinking.
