How exactly does that work? That is not how retirement works at all, there is no way to know what your base level living expenses will be.

Also $5k is a laughable emergency fund, like twice that should be a bare minimum.

Actually $100 is pretty weird when you think about it, is there anything else where we put the unit of measurement before the measurement? We don't even use ¢10 and we would never say Dollars 100.
