And now the Mets really only have Tyrone Taylor to play CF. Taylor is an OK backup, but not much of a starter. Nimmo played 20+ games in CF last year, so you play Marte in LF, Nimmo in CF, and Soto in RF, but that's one of the worst OF defenses in baseball.. And they don't really have anyone on the farm who they can bring up. They had Luisangel Acuña play ~250 innings at CF in AAA last year, and other than him, Nimmo, and Taylor there's no CF on the 40-man. It's a tibia fracture, rather than a break, so I don't think this is a year ending injury.

All bullpens are bad, it's not like every single one of them would be a starter if they were good enough. No one grows up dreamng about getting 3 outs in the bottom of the sixth to preserve a 4 run lead.

The Dads closer Estrada is a former Cubs top prospect they unceremoniously dumped off their roster for nothing because he struggled for ~10 innings in 2023 and he immediately went on to figure it out and become one of the most dominant relievers in the game with tippy top shelf stuff. I cannot stress enough how loving worthless our FO is, lmao.

Estrada was closing that day because the normal guy, Robert Suarez was resting. The 5 high leverage guys have given up 6 runs in 42 innings of work. Suarez is 7 for 7 in closing situations, 0 runs, 2 hits, 2 BB, 9ks

Keider Montero up from AAA to start tomorrow, according to Hinch it's to 'set the rotation back a day'? I don't understand what this means or how it works, are we just gonna rock six starters for a while or are we sending someone down? Do we just bench them? Will Montero be with us for a while? Anyway it'll be interesting to get a look at where he's at, hopefully in a good spot.
