haven't played a single division opponent yet but have played the entire NL West except for Colorado, bring back the couple that used to do schedules with like cutout pieces of cardboard.

also one last cubspost because it is relevant with the dodgers in town, but turner seems completely washed. cool guy, fun to have on the team, great career, but i do not think he has a place on major league team anymore. i don't think i've seen him hit one out of the infield all season.

Their main problem is overwork because of the rotation. And I guess Devil Williams having hiccups but he’s a reliever. Of course he sorta sucks every 3 or 4 games.

I assume because they have a good record while having the toughest on-paper schedule in baseball through till May? It's still dumb as hell though, considering how low the Dodgers are, lol

For comparison, Fangraphs has the Cubs at 3%, comparable to the Giants at 2.4%, but really, I'm just posting this because god drat it has the Dodgers at 21%, which is still frankly absurd to me this early in the season. One in five to win the whole drat thing is some crazy odds.

Basically any "strength of schedule" calculation is going to punish really good teams because their schedule is inherently lighter given they're at the top end and thus most every other team is considered "weaker" than them. The whole "strength of schedule" thing only really works on its own when you're talking about teams at or near the middle of the pack.

Amazing stat mentioned on the O’s broadcast - over their last 8 games, opposing teams 7-8-9 hitters had an OPS over 1.300 against them. Are they running out of time studying scouting reports each day? Jesus.

I'll take these insane high-scoring 11-10 nailbiters over the depressing 3-1 games that plagued last season
