I couldn’t explain exactly how I hosed it up so badly, just got my hand in there too quickly. I could totally see a pitcher doing it. I guy on my softball team a couple years ago did that on a grounder and it exploded hit the tip of his ring finger and exploded the knuckle. He had to have two surgeries and pins sticking out for like 2 months on what looked like a routine grounder.
