I looked at the area it's in with google maps, and even though the neighborhood looks nice it also seems to be a terrible place to live. There's just a single supermarket near it; everything else you'd need to get on the freeway for. Just a wasteland of suburban sprawl.

Paying extra every month to have a phone in the bathroom was absolutely a luxury.

Many homes had the opposite, where a wall would have a cutout so that one phone could be used in either of two rooms, e.g. the kitchen and the den.
