It doesn't matter if you're single or in a relationship. Please tell us what kind of monstrous dishes you have made to sustain yourself, and kindly provide a recipe and review. For a while I had a go-to lunch: Empty Fridge Bowl "When you have eliminated all which is impossible, then whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth." 1 cup cottage cheese Handful of roasted salted (hulled) sunflower seeds Handful of croutons Fake bacon bits (optional) Hot sauce (optional, use sparingly) In a bowl, fold dry ingredients into wet ingredients but don't overmix. Serve immediately. I have not made this in a while, though it's still in the cards. A meal born of the process of elimination. Store-bought croutons usually have an endless list of food science ingredients, which probably helps keep them the exact same texture wet or dry. 4/10

You gotta get some fiber in your diet. As a healthy, conscientious bachelor, I would heat up some corn tortillas, melt some cheddar on them, then top with baked beans for a tasty little taco. It's a solid 5/10 despair meal

Cup of rice with frozen veggies and sometimes a scrambled egg mixed in. Add soy, oyster, and chili sauce. 10 minutes to cook in a pot. I felt equally virtuously healthy and horribly depressed whenever I ate it.

I eat frozen peas as a snack, almost daily. I picked up the habit when I lived in a very hot place.

Raw carrot and celery are nice too...just wash them and you're good to go! I try to have all my veggies and fruits first as snacks before delving into the heavier stuff (pretzels or chips)

I have several nutritionally complete meals based on pasta/rice, ready to eat vegetable and ready to eat protein plus “sauce” that got me through college, grad school, then saving for a down payment, then possibly paying off all debt some day there is the budget version based on canned ingredients and then like, mid-quality where one or more item is cooked fresh, then like, actual food as an occasional treat I like to pretend I’m frugal

I used to eat a lot of cornrice. It was white rice I cooked in a rice cooker along with a can of corn. Would eat it with a little barbecue sauce, probably sweet baby Ray's back then bc it was usually the cheapest. Sometimes I'd use a different can of vegetables but it was always called cornrice.

Your chow sounds pretty good. I like the addition of croutons. You should try putting it on top of some salad greens?!

Back when eggs were a normal price, I would make two cups of rice in an instant pot with six eggs cracked in. Really nice with whatever sauces I had around and could feed me for a lot of the week. I miss my skinny days but I don't miss being groggy and irritable.

Pan fry: - Onions - Spinach - Leftover rice - Pan scrambled eggs Then put it in a bowl and top with cheese, hot sauce, and chili verde salsa. I guess it's texmex fried rice? Really most of my slop meals are just a bowl of rice with stuff on top. wash bucket fucked around with this message at 22:29 on Jun 19, 2025 |

Working from Home Lunch When There's No Leftovers From Dinner Last Night To Reheat Boil water, add cabbage, cut into two inch squares. When cabbage is cooked, set aside in the serving bowl. Use the same boiling water to boil 4 frozen veggie dumplings. When dumplings are done, set aside in the serving bowl, and into the boiling pot put in one pack of instant ramen noodles, and use half the seasoning packet. When noodles are done, use a strainer or chopsticks to get noodles into serving bowl, then pour soup over the noodles, dumplings, and cabbage. Garnish with a drop of sesame oil, chopped green onions, and chili garlic sauce.
