She's best known for a couple big hits off her first album but I think this one should have been bigger than it was: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LOcKckBLouM I think if i had known about this song back then I might have actually liked her instead of just thinking she was a poser. I especially like how she apparently punches dude in the face in the video. Angry Avril was the best Avril. Best known probably for Girls & Boys (girls don't like boys girls like cars and money) this one has a better message and it's pretty catchy too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R4oCDAXQC34 Most of Hybrid Theory was really great and I guess they could only have so many huge hits from it but I've always been partial to this one, the first track off that album: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vjVkXlxsO8Q Tik Tok blew up like crazy, I personally didn't like it but this one from her didn't get the love it deserved: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IkxuUvxgCoM Santa Monica was their big hit off this album but I really like the first track more: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R6wdxGPqbwU Sittin on the dock of the bay is the song people think of but he was so much more than that too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VA3SbP6IlA8 A superior song featuring the word "bitch," but not as well known, this one probably could have been more famous if it had come along later: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=85Dt7jERph4 Less famous songs from famous musicians can be more fun to listen to because they haven't been played to death. Deep cuts are where it's at baby.

Carly Rae Jepsen. Call me maybe is a good song but not her best by any means and it got so overplayed.

I was just listening to Devo's Tiny Desk Concert last night, no, they didn't play Whip It because they have better songs. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VKvYRDhPt_0 I'm not a huge spud, but I've been humming "Beautiful World" a lot lately. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E-gbYjLd93g

Her album EMOTION is so fuckin' good if you like pop. A Very Sexy Baby posted:Harvey Danger's Sad Sweetheart Of the Rodeo rocks my world way more than Flagpole Sitta. I always tell people that Harvey Danger's first album is FULL of bangers, top to bottom. Great album even though they didn't really know how to play their instruments very well, as they've said in interviews. Not that that has anything to do with a good song. That second album that Sad Sweetheart came off of was good, too, and their third album is also very good. Little Round Mirrors is maybe their best ballad that they've ever written (it's about CDs!). I love Harvey Danger and I think that the world got so awash in Flagpole Sitta that they didn't want to hear anything else from them, which is a shame, and that what they SHOULD have done is release Private Helicopter as the second single from WHATMMG instead of whatever they did instead

Was Jerkin' Back 'n' Forth a hit back in the day? It drat should've. Also, Garden and Deep by Pearl Jam are better than Black, which is boring imo. Soundgarden should've become famous because of Mood for Trouble. And Genesis because of White Mountain.

Other than Whip It Devo has always been right out of the spotlight. Mothersbaugh had and I assume continues to have an enormous career in soundtracks. He did a big stretch of Wes Anderson films, he stuck Gut Feeling in The Life Aquatic. For a while he didn't really want to play with Devo live, I read a somewhat sad quote from him so it's good to see him getting into it again. Weird trivia on him he nearly died from covid, ventilator and everything.

I'm not actually sure if Was (Not Was) were really a one-hit-wonder, but just about anyone you ask about them will only know Walk the Dinosaur, if that. But they had this awesome album in '83 that was full of experimental weirdness and featured vocalists:![]() If you go searching for it you'll probably find a lot of the not-great 1990s House remixes. The originals are better. If you find the song without having it spoiled for you, try to guess who's singing on Shake Your Head (Let's Go To Bed).

System of a down, and gorillaz. their first album was incredible, and demon days is one of the best albums ever.

I don't think it's really the wrong somg but it's pretty funny that Butthole Surfers got known for Pepper because it'll lead to people with pretty mainstream tastes checking out the rest of their discography like Psychic... Powerless... Another Man's Sac.

Lesley Gore was known in the 1960s for It's My Party and Judy's Turn to Cry, both typical simple teenage songs. This is finally being recognized as an all-time classic, a feminist anthem from 1963. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OYB1rbL8EHo
