There's like 900 antagonist factions and they all play a key role in the development of at least one of the doctors in a way that you think has been forgotten for 30 years but actually they've been making bespoke prohibitively expensive radio dramas going into extreme detail on the ways in which that's connected to the modern stories and there will be many a wink and nod to that in the next special event.
