haven’t broken into the hard stuff yet, but just poured my first softnog of the year. some of that premium glass bottle stuff got a nice brew going, freshly french pressed for that extra bit of harsh so it would pair just right, then tipped that sweet thick nectar back 50:50 style. simply divine who else is nogging?

I read about how nog is better aged, so last christmas I portioned out some of the batch I made into a glass mason jar and shoved it into the back of the fridge. It has remained there, undisturbed, all year. I hope I don't poison myself and any of my family brave enough to try it.

never tried eggnogg (apart from that weird starbucks eggnogg latte that isn't really eggnogg) but then my partner made some last year and it was the best loving poo poo i've had in forever and it's gonna be a firm christmas tradition now. I am so hyped for eggnogg

Flips are good too and not nearly as heavy or thick, basically eggnog without the milk/cream. I'm gonna try a Rye/Sherry Flip this year to go alongside the nog.

Honestly I gently caress with oat nog. I can't drink milk that hasn't been treated with lactase and there's almost no store nog that works for me because of that. But if I make it at home I can at least make it personalised. Also I just like oatmilk in general.
