I've never "liked" anything. And certainly have not "subscribed" when requested. In fact, asking me to do it makes me not want to! Have you ever actually done this?

I report every comment on a music video that says “who is here from skins???” or “came here from catfish/stranger things/ life is strange/ the funko pop movie”. I report them as tertorism. It’s a waste of time and it does nothing but i teally hate those people and i hope they suffer in this life. I dont like poo poo i dont go outside

I just follow random trails of links on the internet and sometimes I come across things I enjoy. It may not be fast, efficient or reliable but it provides a certain privacy through obscurity. Unrelated my computer might have a virus that needs bitcoin to fix?

Fart and shart, that's about the only thing I subscribe to anymore

One thing I’ll never understand is why they skipped right over YouTube pants and went straight to YouTube shorts

I don't like anything but I subscribe to about 15 channels on yt. Just people who reliably publish videos I want to watch.

I subscribe to things so I can just go to my subscriptions page and not see a bunch of random poo poo I don't care about. This way I see a bunch of random poo poo that I might care about. I'm surprised more people don't do this because it makes youtube so much better.

This way I see a bunch of random poo poo that I might care about. I'm surprised more people don't do this because it makes youtube so much better. I accidentally set myself up for failure when youtube's recommendation algorithm has gone to poo poo in recent years - the subscription page should be my safe haven, but it's full of a good dozen years' worth of idly subscribing on videos I casually enjoyed. I'm slowly cleaning it out into something usable, but that's a process that instantly saps my motivation away. Learn from me, kids, use subscribes responsibly

I have, yes. Youtube can be really good after a lot of curating to get rid of default recommendations, AI channels and anything related to politics or news. Then subscribing to channels you like and you’ll get recommendations for similar channels or videos that are actually good. I’ll like and comment mainly to help support channels I watch and train the algorithm to recommend me cool stuff to watch.

I have a lot of subscriptions. Outdoor Boys, Daily Dose of Internet, Red Letter Media, a few Japanese carpenters and DIY channels, and then a bunch of clip channels of stuff that I like My algorithm really wants me to watch Terminator 2 clips today for some reason, and it's right that I'll probably click them

I subscribe to YouTube channels I want to see more from but not because they tell me to. I set my YouTube bookmark to https://www.youtube.com/feed/subscriptions instead of the front page, so I get zero algorithmic recommendations and just videos from channels I've chosen. I'm surprised they haven't removed it yet.
