In both Sesame Street and The Muppets universes (are they the same?) there are real actual humans, as well as "human" Muppets. Amongst the various muppet monsters, dogs, farm animals, cats, there are human muppets. In "A Muppet Christmas Carol" miss piggy has kids with Kermit the frog. Their kids are all pigs if girls and frogs if boys. Clearly they can interbreed. But can the muppets breed with real humans? And is that how you get the human muppets? What was Jim's plan here?

Muppets are not really the animals they are modeled after. For example, kermit isn’t a frog. You may have been tipped off to this by the fact that he can’t breathe underwater, walks on two legs, and also talks and sings and manages a theater company. So human-modeled muppets are not really humans. Just felt-skinned abominations
