Pal stood there, puzzled. Hadn't he just been on the ledge? Wait, where did Miren go? Truly, a bizarre situation. Then suddenly his head swam as he recalled leaping from on high to stab at his comrade...drat it all, this beast was proving himself truly devious!

He glanced at the Trog next to him glaring menacingly. Bah, nevermind him; stick to the original plan, secure the high ground.

Move: Skulking Spy. Shift to B-6, stealth to Hide: 38.

Seeing Keelie's surge of life turn the tide of battle, the Ettin lets out an enraged sound and tries to bring down its mighty club on the still-lying Rhonwen... but misses just barely, the weapon coming down beside her head.

Rhonwen staggers to her feet, using her spear as a support. "Damned beasts..." She slams the end of her spear into the ground and yells, launching herself at the ettin and sending a wave of inspiration through Keelie and Oliver.

Her thrust damages one of the ettin's vital organs, causing it to roar in pain and swing its wildly in its attempts to take revenge.

Move Action: Stand up
Standard Action: Inspiring Fortitude; I use my Second Wind and Keelie and Oliver gain 13 THP. Someone within 5 can use a surge from Wind of Sympathy if they want. :v:

The trogs continue their assault on poor Rhonwen, but she stands much stronger now thanks to Keelie's aid and her own courage, and their attacks are ineffective.



- The Grunt moves to attack Rhonwen for 1 damage, then darts back away.
- The Thrashers attack Rhonwen! Keelie interrupts with Warden's Fury against Thrasher 1, but misses. Rhonwen takes only 3 damage.

Oliver Arderne

As Rhonwen stands Oliver slips further behind Keelie, shield still raised and ready to meet blows. "Yes, I believe at least some of us have had quite enough of your mind muddling meddling, you dual headed oaf. Kindly wait near your filthy altar while we dispatch your lackeys." With that Oliver makes an arcane flourish and a large earthen wall springs forth from nothing, blocking the Ettin from Oliver and his allies.

Move: Shift to L,7
Minor: Use Mystical Debris
-G,10 is now difficult terrain.
Standard: Use Conjure Fortification
-A wall is conjured in squares G,6; H,6; H,7; I,7; I,8. The wall is blocking terrain, blocks line of sight and line of effect. Basically is a wall. DC 15 Athletics to climb over. Adjacent enemies grant CA.

There is no escape.
The speartrogs scatter across the ledge and launch their spears with deadly precision. One nails Palivir through the arm, and the other flies into the melee and into Rhonwen! The Ettin, meanwhile, stumbles through the wall without much regard for it, though only moments later he seems much more alert.



- The impalers move to attack, one spearing Palivir for 17 damage, the other hitting Rhonwen for 8 after resistance! Both are restrained (save ends).
- The Ettin moves (succeeding in his Athletics to climb the wall), and ends his dazing effect. He does not save against the suggestion.

Miren Lerege

Miren re-appears at the edge of the ledge, ready to sacrifice the trog she had marked before disappearing. However, she finds it already dead, laying on the ground with blood pouring from its chest with Palivir standing by. She feels the spirits' rage welling up inside her. This creature was to be theirs, its blood meant to nourish them. It's not my fault, she pleads. I cursed the creature, plain for even the blind to see. It was the lizard. The lizard killed it while I sojourned. The spirits' anger does not abate. It burns her from within, rising from her gut, and turns to ash in her throat. Hot with anger, Miren spits at Palivir, "You deny the spirits their feast? The sacrifice must be given. See that I don't offer up your heart in that creature's place!"

Her eyes wide and wild, Miren turns to the ettin. She crooks her hand into a claw and screams "Despoiler, devourer, may the roots of the land take you! The ancient ones return to claim the flesh they gifted you. Make your peace and surrender your body to the earth!" The ettin is yanked down to the ground, invisible spirits hungrily pulling and tearing at its flesh. Miren then disappears again, this time instantly reappearing right behind Palivir. Minor spirits surround her, forming an ethereal shield.

Minor: Curse Trog Impaler 1.
Standard: Tyranny of Flame: Ranged 10 fire attack vs. Will: target Ettin[+CA] (28, hit). The ettin takes 31 fire damage and falls prone. The ettin can't stand up from prone (save ends).
Move: Ethereal Stride to A6. I gain partial concealment and +2 to all defenses UEoMNT.
