Had a friend who joined the army and did a tour in Iraq and Afghanistan. Was really pissed he didn't get to "kill any sand-niggers". Another guy I knew in high school was borderline retarded and was a football star who enjoyed fighting people and pissing on furniture at parties. Joined the marines. Last I checked still a scumbag. I know several vets and all but one of them is a raging rear end. The one who isn't is a bitter alcoholic. Pretty cool guy besides that but incredibly negative attitude all the time. American troops have not "defended our country/freedom/democracy" in nearly 80 years.

It really isn't the troops fault they are put in lovely wars with lovely plans because Boeing or something wants to make more money for those sweet kick-backs for congress. Did I say kick-backs I meant jobs. There ought to be a law where no one can vote in congress over wars unless they have kids in the service. I am not talking some desk job either, on the front lines or GTFO. That said, the way we treat the soldiers coming home is appalling and the republican party would have them die than get treatment, because "it costs too much". Every 80 minutes a soldier suicides, it has overtook the combat casualty rate for almost a year now. That said, I bought a soldier a few rounds earlier today and he told me SoP things he shouldn't be saying. It's hosed up over there is all I am going to say. Also, he actually saw a pallet of 100 dollar bills. He told me any sane soldier would have done the three kings thing and bribed themselves over the border, sans refugees.

I'm in ROTC, and it's amazing how basically the military has done a great job of eliminating all appeal it might have to educated people by cutting benefits. So all you get is desperate people and people like me who just don't want a job while going to college. I'm 1 of 22 STEM majors in my 150 man battalion lol.
