drat this thread is moving. Just got to Sen's Fortress, and my weapons are no longer cutting it. I'm hesitant to invest a bunch in upgrading when I don't really understand how it works, but it seems necessary. Any suggestions/info on upgrading?

Thank you two humanity I got randomly, got an amazing staff that does 100 phys + 140 magical damage and an upgrade stone that gets uniques to +5 off the guy in the blacksmith's basement. No way I would have killed the moonlight butterfly with only two estus flasks without it!

Well, my Amazon order didn't come through, but at least if there was one game I would be okay with supporting by buying twice it's this. Still, you lost yourselves a Skyward Sword preorder, Amazon.

Anybody have issues with the Collector's Edition code not working? I put mine in exactly like it says on the card and it's telling me it's not valid. All I really want is the soundtrack, but that's still a huge bummer.

It seems like they have crippled mages. A maximum of 30 uses for the crappiest spell when bonfires are so far apart make the mage class more of a magic-using warrior than anything else. And at that point, I might as well restart with a warrior! Is anyone else having success as a mage?

Anyone have any suggestions on what stats to get next? I'm still in the burg (spent the last hour farming for the repairbox, and 16 str to use the drake sword one handed). I have 16 str, 15 vit, 12-13 endurance, and 11-12 dex. I am a pyromancer but I primarily use my melee. The pyro runs out too fast and has a very limited range which isn't optimal (as far as cast time goes) if something is coming toward you. One last question, can I use the repairbox more than once? I hope so, but I only ask because there was a quantity option when I purchased it (unless that's there for every item?). For 3k souls it better be permanent.

Mine was working earlier today, and the thing said I'd have 24 hours to download the content, but my OST download kept making GBS threads out on me and it's now telling me my code is not valid. When I was able to use the code and access the CE page, it had me put together a login and password, but there's nowhere to enter this information (that I can find). I, too, mostly want the soundtrack.

Samurai Sanders posted:Anyone have any good ideas for fighting skeleton wheels in close quarters? I'm suddenly needing to do a lot of that and they are just murdering me. Assuming you are in the area I think you are, use a bow or other ranged attack to single pull them, then just hide your rear end way up in the tunnel that opens into the cave with all the little pinwheeling bastards. Stand to the left of the door in the tunnel part (not the cave part!)and they will roll up and get stuck on the door frame and then you can swing at them through it. InnercityGriot posted:Blightown AKA Fuckthisareaville question: Where the hell am I supposed to go once I get to the swamp at the bottom? I rang the bell at the top of the church, now I'm going south and it feels like I'm missing a bonfire in between the swamp area at the bottom with the flies and poo poo, and the bridged areas above with the enemies that try to bite you and the fat guys. Assuming you are coming at it from the sewers, you need to go down. Once you get all the way to the bottom there are 3 main important things. One, there's a bonfire down there somewhat near the "shortcut" that you don't want to miss. Two, said shortcut is a series of ladders that you can climb all the way back up to the top after riding a spinny elevator dealy like you used to ride to see Ed the blacksmith. Going up there will let you open a route to londo ruins and make later trips down there much more pain free. Three, there is another bonfire about midway down that plank nightmare. At some point you will see some treasure way below you, but you can totally jump and make it over there. The treasure is the iaito katana and the bonfire is basically like 30 feet away from it. Don't know how to get there that doesn't involve a ridiculous jump, but I'm sure there is one. And lastly the main goal is to go into queelegs lair and murder her then ring the bell. It is at the end of the swamp. The big white hill covered in spiderwebs? That's your goal. NESguerilla posted:Couple quick questions. Rolling is nerfed but it is still amazing. I spent the first 8 hours of the game naked except for a loincloth and a gargoyle hat just to stay under the 25% encumbrance until I found 2 different rings that upped your carry limit and raised my endurance to 20 and then found some black leather. It took all of this before I was no longer some crazy mostly naked deprived. Memories! Cyberbob posted:Are you still better off dead? Only if you really don't want to pvp. DeathSandwich posted:So is there another way to get miracles early besides joining the way of the white? My bandit wound up leveling his faith some in order to use Astora's Straight Sword and I feel it's going to waste without some spells to back it up. He will eventually teach you miracles without requiring you to join his smelly covenant. invalid posted:How the hell can I do Longo is I am out of the 'interact this ghosts' itens? They can be bought. Remember how way back in the beginning when you ran through that aqueduct to get to the undead burg and there was a door in there that couldn't be opened from your side? The depths will eventually loop around to that gate and in that tunnel there is a vendor who sells the transient curses.

Republicans posted:Run across the bridge along the right side. Around where all those guards are is a staircase on the right. If you're quick you can get down that before the fire comes, and even if you do get it it should be glancing and not outright kill you (provided you didn't eat too many arrows running in). From down there you can access the top of the bonfire room and kick a ladder down to make a shortcut. Then you can cross under the bridge and into the undead church area. Dark Souls Apparently in all my attempts past the dragon bridge I kept overlooking the drat bonfire. So I would go, die to the boar, and get put back all the way to that bonfire back in the Burg Dark Souls

Hey guys, real quick question. With a bit of luck, I was able to lure out that rear end in a top hat dragon on the bridge and make it into the building he was guarding. There's a bonfire here. would lighting it now break sequence and really gently caress me over? I'm at soul level 11 for what it's worth.

I would just pump VIT until 30 (diminished return kicks in after 30) for survivability then you can pump faith to 18 if you want the evacuate miracle. After that, you can go melee hybrid or caster. One thing to note about pyromancy is that their spell damage scales off their pyro catalyst upgrades and not so much from INT or faith.
