Hey dudes, here's the latest Friday Night Fights for Skullgirls...on Monday. IGN is a pretty terrible website. http://www.ign.com/videos/2011/10/10/skullgirls-cerebella-gameplay Oh yeah, and also be on the look out for another character reveal possibly today. It was supposed to be revealed in Fraggs Magazine, but the became X360 Weekly and cancelled the issue that was supposed to reveal Painwheel. Skullgirls has been having a lovely week. Yeah, IGN completely hosed over Reverge. They promised to post the video on Friday, but posted it on goddamn Monday with the wrong name, wrong description, under the wrong game, unable to be downloaded without a pay account, and with worse quality than loving Youtube 240p.

Okay so check this out it's not really about fighting games, but about an arcade stick. (I got it for fighting games so don't worry) Anyway I'm playing a game that requires me to press two buttons (circle and square) repeatedly in quick succession. I can figure out how to set one button to turbo, but not a second. I'm using a Hori Real Arcade 3... anyone have any idea if it's possible to turbo two buttons at once?

According to the end of this interview, Ono is impressed enough with KoF XIII to warm up to the idea of a CvS3. It probably wouldn't be his call as much as it would the Capcom higher-ups', but there have been mentions of Capcom trying to split their fighting game output into more casual and hardcore stuff, and a more casual public is unlikely to even be aware of SNK, which the more hardcore have at least some rough awareness of, who knows...

If CvS3 is made, get the loving Ultimate Match team to do it, not Dimps. That's all I ask.

All of those tutorials are really great, especially that ST one, but what really is jumping out to me for Skullgirls is breaking down the execution barrier. From first hand experience I can say I know a lot about fighting games but I'm really bad at them. I have difficulty understanding when to use what I know. So far it sounds like they will show you the info, let you use the info, then have you think about when to use it.

Doesn't matter what the name is, it would still be 10x better than anything that Dimps could make.

I think the easiest way to teach people fighting games would be to change how AI difficulty works. Instead of just making the AI dumber as you scale down the difficulty, keep the AI reasonably smart but take away tools from their characters. At the easiest difficulties the AI would only have a handful of attacks that the player learns to counter in order to win. This is exactly how bosses in most other games work and simply by playing the game a new player quickly learns what to do in a given scenario. More importantly it breaks the strategy of the game up into easy to digest chunks, this would make it much easier for a new player to make the jump from just throwing attacks out and seeing what sticks to having an overarching strategy. In this way you can easily create a lengthy single player experience with a traditional scaling difficulty curve all while teaching new players to play the game through actual gameplay.

You could also have something like Mauve's IaMP AI that could learn pressure/combos/resets from replays, it still sucked at blocking though . I know VF recorded top players playing and tried to integrate it and smash bros brawl tries to copy what you do for its lv9 AI, I mean it is pretty funny to watch a computer pikachu use QAC to move around.
