Edit: Although I commonly believe if a large amount of people are issuing complaints, there is often an underlying problem that may not have been solved.

Also to be honest, it's more useful when people are complaining than they are being encouraging from a designer's perspective.

I absolutely think the character descriptions are as hilarious as everyone else does and that's exactly what I intended them to be. Again, most of those were just me being a jerk in development talks and everyone seemed to like what I said. For awhile, all Winston had for his description was "GENTLEMAN", which was changed before we posted. I even said to go all out and put ol' Fiveaces in the game, which I still might get my way with that.

And, to be fair, it's very hard to hold a teacup with boxing gloves on, let alone an umbrella. So why shouldn't Dudley get some protection from the elements? :colbert:

If you got artist problems I feel bad for you son, I got 99 problems but my games are fun.

It means artists don't get the final say on game design/marketing of game features.

I'd bet five bucks that the machine is in such bad shape that it's unplayable, based on their website and the list of games they have.

At one point in development, I had his entire moveset drawn up with the four balls thing. Hell, his insight mechanic was going to be a way to build up to five aces or move the balls on the bottom of the screen near his super bar. And he was to have this spectacular super where he performs his classic pose with the leg up on the opponent instead of the table. I will continue working on him to see if everyone agrees to allow him access into the game. At the very least though, he will end up as a background or story line easter egg for sure.

Duly noted. I think after they have seen the result of putting stuff up like that, I will be in charge of every bit of content that comes out. Lest we end up releasing an HD quality trailer with a stick layout...but with strobe lights this time! :smug:

From the picture it looks like they've at least replaced the buttons. I sent them an email like months ago when I found out they're opening saying that I would service the poo poo out of that shop for peanuts, but I haven't heard anything back. I'll most definitely be reporting back.

When I think of Johnny Fiveaces as a fighting game character, my brain automatically defaults to something like GG's Johnny. Maybe crossed with Frank West. You have a move where you throw an ace, and if it connects, you get buffs to your normals, specials, etc. Hit with five, and you enter Fiveaces Mode, where you get access to the Four Balls level 3, which drops your opponent off a cliff, and gets crushed by more falling balls.

I should stop thinking about this. It's maddening.

I need to stop reading about all the ideas you guys have, because I'm seriously trying to figure out the logistics to how to fit this into our game.

And clearly if we were going to go with a Frank West style character, he would have to be Schultz, the classy man with the camera. You take enough picture and you eventually get a bitchin' sand boots power-up.

Playing that new KOF, and it kind of sucks how linear some characters are and how others like Kula can do Marvel combos in the corner.

I've been using the gimmick team of Ryo/Robert/Takuma. Ryo... always loved the guy but he clearly has the least tricks of the three, regardless of how cool his parry is. Also, his sprite is loving terrible. SNKP literally forgot their own colors.

Yeah, 10-hit combos have definitely been in since Tekken 1.

I did find it interesting that the guy who designed Virtua Fighter wouldn't let anyone code a move they couldn't physically do.

I was planning on maining C. P. Ciel, but following up her QCF+A is nigh on maddening, unless there's something I'm missing with that. However, I took some time out with F. Riesbyfe, and goddamn is she powerful. Why yes, I would like 4.3k for B, C, EX, thank you.

I'm quite enjoying H/VSion myself. Her basic BnB is a neaty 4.2k too, and easy to execute to boot, plus she has a lot of tools. Weirdly enough, the guys that play Melty around here think she's not great anymore. Dunno why.

She's technically nerfed from the first arcade versions where that basic BNB did more like 5.2k+. Also I believe H as a groove isn't nearly as strong as before in general. I'd wager a guess that if H isn't the "best" VSion groove then it's probably F.
