If I give Miranda the resources she requests on the Citadel, will she survive? What impact (if any) does this have on my war assets?

In order for her to survive you need to have her be Loyal in ME2, give her the resources she wants and have read the Kai Leng dossier Anderson forwards to you after the attack on the Citadel, once you do all that, Shepard will mention Kai Leng during dialogue and Miranda will survive his attack.

She's worth a not-inconsiderable amount of assets, comparable to Grunt or Wrex.

Consistency doesn't matter, I've replayed that scene using all one, the other and mixed and still gotten the final colored dialog option. For that last talk, I actually liked the renegade version of that conversation.

Nope. Besides the obvious reasoning of the Protheans being discarded as a potential source of new Reapers. The outer shell of the Reapers is usually fairly uniform, with the squid-look. It's what's inside that's different.

I always thought that was foreshadowing for something, but I guess I was wrong. I figured that Harbinger was going to turn out to be a Prothean-Reaper, but since the codex says that he's the oldest known Reaper, that's not possible.

Well, technically, the 'Protheans didn't get a Reaper' is speculation from EDI based on the Prothean/Collector connection and the 'Harbinger is the oldest Reaper' is speculation based on Alliance intel.

From the last page, but I don't think you understand. The quests were marked as completed after that point and I could not do anything to actually complete them. Unless you were talking about the evidence I missed on the one planet.

Also, everytime I go to that terminal it only shows me 3 Spectre weapons. Am I doing something wrong? Said evidence wouldn't show up there either.

EDIT: Alright this is really going to bug me now that I know about it. You guys are talking about the two terminals in the Spectre office at the Embassies, correct? Which terminal? The one on the left has some stuff that periodically pops up and has a short description and asks me to confirm/deny it. I've done some of those already. The other terminal on the right has the 3 Spectre weapons. Are you telling me that the terminal on the left is supposed to allow me to purchase stuff like the evidence that I missed? Because I went back to that freaking terminal after every mission to see if there was anything new and I never got anything along the lines of "buy this for person x." I'll try it again later today, but I'm starting to think my game is bugged or something.

Seeing as how the Prothean character DLC has collectors/prothean husks in it that. Just like how there was work on a human reaper in addition to husks

The best part is that FemShep gets that as the last casualwear option, except all black with red trim. And a tiny N7 logo on one strap. That last detail meant I had her wear it for at least an hour of gameplay before the tacky jewellery it also gives her became too much.

I think that was a problem of trying to make Chobot 'sexy', rather than having her fit the character's role. She's a war correspondent, she should be wearing armour or a suit or one of those weird high-collared dresses that are popular in ME-world.

It bugs me because the idea, and even some of the writing, is a good one. The game is about rallying the galaxy to your side, and the media should be part of that. But as soon as "Let's get that hot chick from IGN" was decided, the presentation of it was gutted.

Edit: I like the idea of having the press following you and informing the galaxy of your exploits. War Assets are actually modified based on what you say in the interview. It's just that they messed it up by creepily adding her as the journalist.

Edit2: gently caress it, they should have made it al-Jilani. You give her all the stories she needs but every time you talk to her you're given the option to punch her in the face.

I never really thought it was creepy, but I did think it was pretty loving absurd. If your in-game character--with a similar job, no less--screams "trashy reporter for a lovely network," you might want to rethink your professional standards.

I had no idea she was an insert of a real person. That's stupid and unethical for a lot of reasons but the in-game issue I had with her is that they advertised Allers and her reporting as a lot bigger part of the game yet there's only like 3 interviews and very little dialogue with Shepard outside of it.

I guess this is a mixed blessing because her model is a derpy-looking wax-mannequin in a 1920s bathing suit and her lines so badly delivered I couldn't really stand the few encounters she and Shepard did have.

When I first found Allers, I thought there would be a lot of interviews. Either of you or the crew. But all she ever did was stay in the little room and interviewed me 2 or 3 times total. The rest were small comments to Traynor and that was it. Honestly thought she'd have more dialog / questions than crewmates but I was wrong.

Then again I probly just wanted to see her interview a Volus and get kicked in the shin like that other reporter did.

What bothers me is that the whole thing is fundamentally flawed, and it's representative of the worst of the game--where poo poo happens just because it's "cool" or "different" or, god forbid, meant to spark lots of speculation. Like Kai Lang and the ending itself, it's poo poo from outside the Mass Effect games shoehorned into the Mass Effect games. It comes off like every other self-referential event in every game ever: it takes you out of the story and makes you question the writers.

This poo poo works in literature but it doesn't work well in games because too often games are flawed in accidental ways and so we can't ever be sure if it's intended or not (see: the model in the kid's hand at the beginning of the game).

It's somehow worse than the trickle of pop culture references that became a raging torrent and ruined warcraft.

Sometimes, in a city this dirty, you need a real hero.
How quickly does the galactic readiness go up in multiplayer?

I just had a bronze game that went up to wave 11 or something before we died (when getting to the extraction point) and combined with a quick failed attempt just before that, it's gone up by 5% already and i got a ton of experience.

If you stick it on gold do you get a load more of points and readiness in one game or something? It doesn't feel like it would take more than an evening of playing to get readiness up to 100% on just bronze.

It seems to give you between 2% - 5% readiness for each random location game, 5-7% in a particular area if you pick the map, and as far as I can tell it appears to be completely random how much you'll receive. You'll be at 100% in about 20 games, which isn't hard to do because the MP is great.

So I'm considering doing a second play through, but I'm trying to weight whether it's worth it. I did every single side quest I was aware of, and I'm pretty sure my decisions in ME1+2 all contributed to my EMS, and on my first run and ended up with ~6900 total military strength. I was satisfied with every decision I made in the game, and probably wouldn't change anything even if it got some more points (since as far as I can tell there's no way to get enough to get the good ending without doing multiplayer).

I think the only thing I could look forward to on another playthrough are:
  • Playing as another class.
  • Playing the From Ashes DLC
  • Playing on a harder difficulty. I wasn't even aware there were multiple single player difficulties. I never remember selecting one.
  • Creating a completely new shepard with one of those online shepard makers. Does one of those exist for ME3 yet?

Am I missing anything else? Because I'm not sure that's enough to justify doing the same exact missions over again.

Yeah I played ME1 and ME2 both twice, but that was worthwhile because both times I had missed a decent amount of stuff on my first playthroughs and went back to do a completionist run. This time I did pretty much everything (except From Ashes), so I'm not sure a second playthrough would really add anything.

Playing as a vanguard or sentinel does seem interesting. Throwing out armies of combat drones and turrets as an engineer was fun sometimes but got kind of dull later on.

And is there any confirmation of any substantial DLC coming soon? Because if so I may wait for that.
