He's a fake Harlem Globetrotter. He's right in there with Sweetwater Clifton, Medowlark Lemon, Goose Tatum, Curley Johnson, and Nuggie Watkins for standard Globetrotter names. His name is ridiculous because it's supposed to be.

Sugar Dunkerton and Dasher Hatfield are two of my favorite names in wrestling because they're so perfect. Even if you don't know anything about them, just their names give you an idea of their gimmicks and personalities. You see Dasher Hatfield on the card, you know you're going to get an old-timey baseball player. Sugar Dunkerton tells you you're getting a fun-loving basketball player. Or maybe a donut. It helps you get into the character and into the match and they don't even have to do anything. It's genius!

FYI if you follow me I am RTing the best of wrestleshoot.
