Look at that Goals page with the copyright text shooting off the graphical borders. Ni No Kuni's already got a Euro date so I can't say I'm too stressed, but something feels off about it. (That said: when the hell did Ni No Kuni get a European date? Scyron posted:I've found all the later game trophies way easier than the first few. If it weren't for maximum times X can be pressed I would have the first level's trophy already. I dunno. It only took me two tries to get the first trophy, and that's only because I got to the end of the course before I was able to get all the links. It's the only trophy level I've tried, though. This game is a goddamn trip.

Samurai Sanders posted:It sure looks like that in the process of making his games more mainstream, Suda revealed that he doesn't actually know how to make a good mainstream game, just wacky-rear end alternative games, which will be held to a lower standard on gameplay and content just because of how different they are. I mean, I really liked NMH, but it was REALLY rough gameplay-wise and had a giant empty grindy world that was a pain to get through. I still maintain that Killer 7 was absolute genius however and that Suda gets a pass on doing whatever the hell he wants because of it. Interestingly, apparently his new game will be similar to Killer 7 in that it's about assassins and has a much more serious tone than his recent goofy output. I'm really excited to find out more about the game, whenever that is, since it's confirmed to be for PS3/360.

I'm really excited to find out more about the game, whenever that is, since it's confirmed to be for PS3/360. Killer7 is actualy one of my favorite games ever, and is one of the few GameCube titles I still own. I also really liked No More Heroes. I think the problem with things like Shadows of the Damned is that, rather than building a gameplay around a story like in Killer7, it was more writing a story that makes sense in someone else's gameplay. If he can work with someone that'll make what he wants to make, but make it work, then they can be great. If NMH was developed by someone who knew how to make a good sandbox game, it would've been absolutely fantastic rather than just a quirky thing with off-putting gameplay.

The beginning of it is so promising and by the time I was fighting that boss in the market I was feeling it so well, like it really was some demented road movie take on RE4, but then it all just goes downhill from there. The side scrolling levels and that godawful shooting gallery stage were almost enough to make me send it back. Having watched the LP on Shadows it seemed like a pretty fun but frustrating game but yea that first Market boss really was the high point

Lego Batman 2 may end up being the first Lego game I give up on trying to plat. The main thing frustrating me are the nearly unusable flight controls. For some reason, they decided that this game need a loving enormous open world. The only way to get around this world with any kind of speed (not to mention the only way to reach some of the spots you need to get to) is to fly. The flight controls are so spastic that they're even worse than the GTA 4 helicopter controls. At least GTA 4's controls kind of made sense even if they didn't work very well. In Lego Batman 2, you cannot fly slowly. You can either hover or zoom around at 5000 miles per hour; there is no in-between speed. You're five feet in front of the building you need to land on? Give the thumbstick a slight tap and now you're a mile behind the building. You can't move straight up or down. You can't even invert the controls so it controls complete backward from most other games. I thought maybe I just didn't "get it" so I looked around for some help but found that the flight controls seem to be a universal complaint.

Finally found some time to throw at Dyad, and goddamn is that game awesome. It is a joy to play, the nonstop stream of new mechanics keeps the "campaign" interesting to play, and while I managed to pick up a handful of trophies a bunch of the ones I tried were ball-bustingly hard so I'm looking forward to throwing myself at them for the rest of the summer!

Square are way too convinced that FFXIII means that people really liked it. Did FFXIII-2 even do well at all? I seem to remember it being down to $20 within months of it's release.

They may poo poo out a FFXV about the time XIII-5 is out. They are making good profits by creating these cheap to make sequels and, for some reason, people don't seem to get tired of them. XIII-2 ended with a freaking cliffhanger, a To Be Continued message, and instead of people getting mad about that, I saw them asking when XIII-3 would get a release. Also, none of the vast amount of DLC available for XIII-2 will work on XIII-3, so if you bought any of it for some reason you are SOL. Yeah, I'm not happy about this episodic thing SE is doing now -- at least the Telltale game episodes don't go for AAA retail prices.

It sold well and was rear end-cheap to make. The latter is the important part. It was ridiculously cheap to make and so it doesn't matter if it didn't do as well as FFXIII. Considering FFXIII-2 literally ends with "to be continued" this isn't a huge surprise. FFXIII-2 had a boatload of problems tho' and I doubt XIII-3 will fix anything.

Type-0's director made the claim awhile back that they started work on an "overseas version" of the game after they released it. No idea just how far overseas they mean. Awhile back there was a leak on some UK site that included a Vita version of Type-0, which was something the Japanese said they would be cool with before.

Gilgamesh looks pretty awesome in his Type-0 DLC for Dissidia Duodecim. That alone makes me sad we haven't gotten the game over here yet. I really like games that use the Kingdom Hearts engine because they're fast paced and great for pick-up and go play.

Sony should probably run a couple of lines at the beginning of each episode saying that statements by the contestants are not necessarily endorsed by Sony itself.
