I had a no dj version before, so it's sort of annoying, but yeah he's not so bad.

The first song is top 5 best Cam songs of all time, the second one wasn't even bad but it's still a loaded comparison, he's no XXL Freshman List Recipient Macklemore but it's not like he's fallen off like DMX or Shyne. I like his raps now, he's not as hungry anymore obviously but I don't think he has to be. A lot of his appeal now comes from his apathetic attitude and that translates to a lazier style of rapping. Basically Cam'ron is that dude.

To the sun's savage brightness he exposed the dark and secret surface of his retinas, so that by burning the memory of vengeance might be preserved, and never perish.
I am not too familiar with Cam'ron's latest output, but I have 'I Hate My Job' on my iPod and that song is so wonderfully stupid. The weird hook, the female harmonies in the background, the absolute sincerity and pain from a guy that never (as far as I know) held an office job... It's a great and stupid song and I put it on all the time.

Goodness no, now that wouldn't do at all!

All the TDE dudes really put out good stuff this year. Ab-Soul's album really grew on me, and I've been telling everyone about Schoolboy Q's album all year. Cartoons and Cereal still prob the best track I've heard all year (especially with Gunplay killing the last verse), hope that makes the album.

Agree with all this. This was TDE/Black Hippy's year as far as I care. I was hoping it was gonna be Gibbs year but no. He's got plenty of hunger left, I'm starting to think that signing with CTE was a bad idea. I hope he doesn't implode in like a"when keeping it real goes wrong moment."

yeah, I hate how people call Death Grips "satan goth rap" just because it's a dark heavy sound.

I hate describing Death Grips because I've yet to hear a description of the band that isn't either grossly pretentious and/or doesn't completely miss the mark. I just tell people to listen to them and to expect a strange and geniunely unique sound. My friend was looking them up today and asked me why the two related artists were "Danny Brown and Godspeed You! Black Emperor." I thought that was pretty hilarious and weirdly accurate.

The new album is great too, highlights are Whammy, Deep Web, and Artificial Death in the West. Also gotta love that album cover :dong:

I was first alerted to Death Grips through Alec Empire from Atari Teenage Riot, and that always makes a lot of sense to me.

From the iTunes pre-order, doesn't look like Cartoons and Cereal is on the album, which is strange. There is another track that is 12 minutes long, so it could be part of that, it does have the to be continued at the end.
Also no Ab or Q features listed.
