Can someone run down the notable TDE/Black Hippy releases from this year besides Habits & Contradictions?

ninja edit: I think the production on Schoolboy Q's album is pretty top notch...

Control System is my album of the year so far behind BFK. Other than that I don't think they've released anything else in 2012.

Everyone on TDE but Kendrick has already released something. His album is out next week, I think? Or the week after.

Also, idk what it is. But I'm listening to Chief Keef more. He's not deep. But I like his sparse style and the choice of beats. 300

Yeah, and from what I understand it was him who went after 50 and his boys by himself first. He might not be the wisest dude, but he's def not a pussy for rushing a crew solo.

Gunplay is an idiot. The drift I get is he walked past, through, or somewhere near them and 'acted disrespectful'. 50 and his crew addressed it and the 5 on 1 dynamics are evident. 50 and Ricky don't get along, Gunplay and G-Unit has traded dissed in rap or videos in the past (though they deny it now). I think Gunplay thought that 50 was going to ignore him but he didn't. I believe Mike Knox's story more so in that they weren't going after Gunplay but he made himself a target. They already had more people and no motive, Gunplay just acted foolish at the wrong time.

Either way, its so dumb for people with money to act like that. But whatever, you can take the cat out of the country but ...

Kushpak 1/2 are both good introductory albums that have some great songs on them. Mink Rug is also good and has a SGP feature. On the solo front Lofty305's Hashpipe Jazz and Vaglord are both a bit different than the group offering but still interesting, with the former having more Jazz based beats.

Don't forget Shroomtard by Lofty. I also dig the Mike Dece and Propr Boyz albums. RubennSlikk (Lofty's brother, I believe)also has one of my favorite ad-libs of the group with his "Sliiiik"

I'd say Heaven, Mink Rug, Hashtag Jazz, and Shroomtard (which was the first album that got me listening). Heaven is HUGE, but you'll get a little of everything and hear from all the crew. It also really shows how they vary their production. Mink Rug is another proper Metro Zu release and is pretty typical the type of poo poo they make (also it has the closest thing they've had to a "hit" iirc). The last two are Lofty305 releases, ans I just think they're really strong and show kinda the "peak" of their style. Spirit Guide is prob my fav song I've heard from them.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VspLqwuFftA

That being said I still gotta check a couple of their newest releases which I've heard is really strong

I felt the same way, probably because I've heard half the album before it was released. In my opinion, Wings, Same Love and Make The Money shouldn't have been on the record. Not because they're bad songs, they're actually some of the best, but they've been out for way too long.

That said, it's starting to grow on me.
