Your opinions are poo poo and the only difference between you and Bstyles is that dude doesn't seem to take himself seriously and doesn't try to come off like he actually knows anything. But if listening to an illiterate teenager mumble his way unintelligibly through a song or an amos n' andy redux minstrel his way around videos gives you your fix of cultural tourism don't let anyone stop you.

Thanks for posting that UGK video, lots of heavyweights on there.

edit: that Big Boi/A$AP Rocky song is growing on me. I wasn't feeling the indie rock female vocals parts at first, a little contrived but whatever they work. I am cautiously excited about 'Vicious Lies' though I'm definitely not expecting another SLL. That album was many years more in the making due to all the label problems.

Also would recommend Gorgeous Children, Lil Ugly Mane was hyping them up and I like what I've heard: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9qa-dFhY_bU

I love metro zu but zuology as album of the year is a bit much. It's not even my favorite zu release of the year (that would be VAGLORD, even though it's technically a lofty solo project).

Never heard of gorgeous children before but I liked the linked song. Do they have any good albums/mix tapes?

I don't have to try to sound smart in this thread, I simply have to post and the vast majority of dudes here do that for me. As for the stuff about rap music and racism normally I'd bring up one of the many ways that they are intertwined but then I remember you're dumb as poo poo and wouldn't understand it anyways so I'll hold off. And the fact that the general level of discourse is "that poo poo go hard" and suburban white dudes trying do do their best impression of what they think a black person would say has driven off the vast majority of people who actually know poo poo about anything from posting here.

Dude, that's what hip-hop's about-going back at cornballs and idiots who try to talk poo poo (well, that and getting your forum name written on the rear end of camwhores).

Also if you think three sentences can be described as "rambling" you may need to up your Ritalin prescription.

thathonkey posted:

Corny white dudes suddenly thinking it's "cool" to "talk black" because they're talking about rap does have an impact on how blacks are treated (even if it's a small one). Again, I'd explain why but you're retarded and it would fly over your head.

Also, it's not the words themselves (although that's often problematic) but simply the fact that any discussion, regardless of who starts it, gets shouted down by a bunch of content-less crap. Hell, I give temple credit because despite coming off about as coherent as an ESL student running paragraphs through Google Translate half the time (although seriously, if you are an ESL student don't let me discourage you) he at least tries to develop thoughts and ideas about rap. There's actually a lot of cool things that get brought up around the internet dealing with rap and society, but hell if you can expect anyone to actually read and discuss them here. And I at least know in the past there were dudes here who would discuss stuff and not just c/p datpiff download links.

You keep avoiding having to explain yourself by saying that I'm "too dumb to understand." Either state your points (preferably points about said topic that haven't already been explored ad nauseum by much smarter people) or shut up.

No more posts where the sole content is just this over and over again: "well see, I am the only person who can really understand these streets and it is my de facto job then to safeguard black culture from white gentrification, seriously though I'd explain what that means but sadly you're too loving stupid to understand my mad cogent analogy comparing what's happening with popular rap music and what's in black neighborhoods undergoing gentrification."
