I just finished my playthrough of scribblenauts and the nintendo specific stuff didn't seem to add a whole lot. Also since you are dealing with Nintendo characters they are limited in some ways, you can't make Mario carry a machine gun and whatnot so that takes some of the fun out of it.

Seeing Steam mentioned here/everywhere is getting beyond old. I don't care about Steam. Sales are cool and all but still, don't care. How's Ninja Gaiden? I know it's a revamp of a supposedly terrible game but is it still worth it if I want a good gory hack and slash on the Wii U? Honestly if its 60 fps, controls well, and is generally fun then I think it's what I want.

The original (3) was half-baked at best, and torn apart in reviews for being far and away inferior to the previous two. The Wii U version fixes the framerate and attempts to rebalance combat a bit, but most reviews still agree that it's not enough to save the title.

The Gamepad controls for Scribblenauts are what made me get the game on WiiU. There's something great about not having to sit at a computer sometimes. Now I can play in a different room or in bed if I want instead of at the computer. I also got it $10 cheaper because of a sale with helped offset the price difference a little bit.

Is Nintendo doing that thing in Europe that they did with the 3DS where retailers can set the prices for their hardware and software individually? I looked at two websites for local game stores today and one store had the Wii U at €325 and games at €50 to €60, and then another store had the Wii U at €375 and games going from €62 to €69(!!!) I don't even remember seeing a game going for that amount of money since Metal Gear Solid 4!  I guess I know where I'll be buying all my Wii U gear, then. Although it looks like us Europeans aren't going to get anything remotely resembling that sweet $40 deal for Sonic & Sega Transformed.

They're terrified of it happening again so they aren't giving any RRPs, they just sell units to retailers then it's up to the retailers to figure out what to sell them for.

The software instabilities and slowness can be chalked up to release jitters, but the voice chat is the most baffling to me. Why is it game-to-game? Why is it so hard to play online with friends? Why are games allowed to lock-out the OS completely? Why didn't the classic controller pro come with a headphone jack? I hope they fix up the voice chat and it doesn't continue to be a massive mess. If the OS is taking up 1GB of RAM, have it actually run in the background. Why do I have go all the way through miiverse and a bunch of menus before I can see my messages? etc.

Yea some of those (like the "no announcements of big-name titles we all know are coming anyways") are kind of dumb but on some of the OS-level stuff it seems like they really dropped the ball. Party chat on 360 (and whatever the PS3 equivalent is, assuming there is one) should really really become standard. Even on the PC , platforms like Steam offer an almost-global chat solution and when that doesn't work there are options like teamspeak and ventrillo that have been around for years and years. You shouldn't have to rely on sources outside the medium to coordinate gameplay and it's such a weird oversight with no good excuses present.

Maybe you don't think you'd get a lot of use out of it but it's a pretty fluid system and it's great that as long as we're both sitting at our consoles I don't have to rely on my phone or my computer to organize a game with someone an start playing, and honestly it's something that would fit in great with the "one device in your living room" image that the Wii U is trying to cultivate (TVii, Internet browser, etc.) and while the 360 by no means handles it perfectly, its system has set the standard for me over the past few years.

Well, a bit part of the way people use it on the 360 is to chat with friends on the same team without having raving lunatic randoms screaming over them the entire time. It has some very practical uses.

To be honest I don't really play much multiplayer - I'm kind of like the zero punctuation guy when it comes to it. I mostly will only play it when it's something really inventive and engaging but not annoying like the Souls series or Journey.
