The Valkyrie game for Famicom predates Zelda, if I recall correctly. I've definitely played it but don't remember enjoying it a whole lot. The arcade/TG16 game is a top-down, kinda-scrolling kinda-shooter, like Ikki if Ikki wasn't unforgivably terrible.

I don't know how many people here generally follow speedruns, but there's an annual marathon that SDA does in January which includes a ton of popular retro games like your Ninja Gaidens, your Megamans, and this year, even Umihara Kawase. We got a few comments here and there about being international and it was meeting the ADs in and aaround the weird streets of Akihabara. Here's a few pics I took at the bazaar.  Arino really had a clear out it seems   Bought Survive Style   Zari-gani - They're still making use of your great picture! This was right by the entrance.
