I've never understood the Sunday invites, almost all of them were a waste of time. Occasionally you get invites from like party members where you can actually progress the Link, but otherwise why would anyone go out to meet Kou/Ai/Ayane/whomever? Oh boy, I got a book I'll never read!

I have a question about Persona 3. I just got to the time-locked gate near the very top of Tartarus that unlocks on January 31st. It's currently only January 3rd. Is there any reason to not just sleep till that date? I'm keeping multiple saves in case I need to grind more or something before the 31st. VVV basically all the stuff I wanna skip to get to p4g asap then? Liquid Penguins fucked around with this message at 00:13 on Jan 4, 2013 |

If this is FES we're talking about, you also can't get tired on the final day IIRC. So any grinding you need to do could be done on that day.

My memory sucks, but I think that the not getting tired on the final day before a boss was in vanilla P3 but removed in FES. I remember quitting because I'd burned up too much time before the next boss and was screwed.

Having twice maxed all S. Links, I think that if I do a third run through the game I'll ignore all of them except for the plot relevant ones and Hermit. Maybe set it to Very Hard with the exception of turning on battle retries. Then I guess just try to do my best to not grab a super team from the compendium. Maybe go for that Izanagi-only run.

Why would you do such a thing to yourself? That sounds even more painful than a pistol only Doom run on Ultra-Violence.

Ignoring SLinks in a NG+ isn't going to affect the difficulty too much. It'd mainly make the game really, really boring due to having absolutely nothing to do outside of dungeons.

The Izanagi-only run is doable if you decide to fuse a new one. Here's what mine looks like currently: I have to go on a few more scooter runs to unlock Okina (and Chagall Cafe) again, but I keep getting distracted by Social Links... As for the difficulty, you could always set it to Very Hard with low damage dealt, great damage received, and low EXP gain.

I figured the thing that would end up hamstringing you is the low base level, which everyone keeps pointing out is factored into the damage equation somehow. Fusing a new one shouldn't change that, should it?

No social links, no golden hands, Izanagi only, no items, Final Destniation.

Add Debilitate, and everything becomes a lot easier. Later on, I'll probably replace Spell Master with Mind Charge for extra damage. I guess it would matter more if I was playing on low damage dealt. It's more fun with max damage dealt and gained though, so that's what I've been doing. Nondevor fucked around with this message at 05:19 on Jan 4, 2013 |

Also, I can't be the only one who made a "Dragon Hustle" persona, right? Someone with Auto-Mataru, Auto-Maraku, and Auto-Masuku. For that extra "gently caress you" to golden hands and bosses.

Thought I'd try out very easy for my NG+ and I know it's supposed to be for people who just want to breeze through dungeons and watch the story but goddamn it's hilarious how overpowered you get. I went into Naoto's dungeon and one-shotted a group of four golden hands with Beezelbub's megadolaon and ended up getting 99999 exp and everyone went up like 20 levels. Despite just getting into the dungeon all the shadows are super tiny now. Naoto of course went down in only four rounds. This sure is nice change of pace from how hellish very hard got at times.

Unfortunately, I had to give the Vita back to my sister so I'm not finishing this game for another couple of months! During the December dungeon too! Finishing Fienne's LP is just not the same.

With maxed level and stats, Izanagi is going to deal dramatically less damage and take dramatically more damage than, for example, Lucifer.

Does anyone know of it's possible to ctach the Guardian during the winter? I swear, it wouldn't show up during the foggy days and now it won't show when it's snowing. I wanted to complete all quests and now I can't give Daidara a fish for him to create his masterpiece edit: It took quite a bit of patience, but I got it eventually. Just have to show enough patience on non-rainy days for the Guardian. Keep pulling in your reel if you know you won't catch it (the water will be rippling like crazy beforehand) in order to preserve bait.

Took me forever, but I finally encountered and beat The Reaper during my first trip to Heaven(?). Do you get anything other than a trophy and kickass sword, like a key item for summoning? Not that I'm complaining about the sword.

Is that all that Reaper does? Kind of lame. I ran into him on my first trip to the Bath House. Needless to say at only level 30 or so I got slaughtered in one turn. There were a couple of times that the game signaled he was around (the faint chain rustle and roaring) but I never ran into him those times.

Since he ended up used in a lot of fusions thanks to the compendium, eventually I had various auto-buff skills on almost all my personas toward the end of the game. That actually kind of sucked since after three turns or if you switch to one of those personas mid-battle they're wasted skill slots.

Apparently I'm the only lucky person when it comes to the Reaper. I've opened a chest that had the warning...oh...I don't know 5-6 times? Without trying. Beaten it twice in those 5-6 (holy crap got destroyed in 2 more and skipped it 1-2 times). Finally in Feb on my first playthrough. This game rocks my socks though. I'll probably immediately start a NG+ that takes me a literal year to beat because of just playing it on the side of other games. Still looking forward to it though.

There's nothing worse than going through NG+ cleaning up everything and then accidentally locking yourself out of the bonus boss. That will teach me for making assumptions on how this game works.
