They're muffled but during games with people and game volume they're virtually silent. Personally I really like how they feel and if I miss that authentic arcade button tactile sensation I'll just slap around the start and select buttons a bit and then I'm over it.

the srk forums are down and I have a question regarding dual modding. I just bought a round one madcatz TE for ps3, and I'm looking to dual mod it. I've read in different places that this fightstick in particular is kinda finicky to mod. I have a 360 fightpad that I can take the pcb out of and I'm confident (enough) in my soldering skills, but are there other methods besides cannibalizing a fightpad?

NSR seems to have focused so much attention to the Amazon aspect of Wonder Woman that it looks like they forgot she was female.

You can buy an all in one solution like the PS360+ for ~$60 (when it's in stock at focusattack, it's not currently). Otherwise you're stuck with cannibalizing a fightpad.

Depending on the assets they have done (which sounded like a lot in the EVO talk), they'll probably just make the fighters something besides ponies and remove the branding. Something tells me all interest will be lost in it if they decide to do that though, which is a shame for the devs.

That really blows for the Mane6 guys. Other than the ponything, the game looks kinda cool. If they actually make characters that look different, it'll probably be for the best. They'll at least have a huge amount of attention on them if they decide to make a new fighter.

That's generally how these things go. Most fan projects fall apart in the early stages, so it's not worth bothering with legal action until the finish line is in sight. Also given the post on their site, it looks like the team is already falling apart.

Got a monitor question for y'all since I'm looking for something to spend my tax refund on. I know the ASUS VH236H has been the fighting game monitor of choice for awhile, but I saw a couple others as well that appear to be newer models, like the VS238H-P. Is the second one as reliable for reducing lag like the VH, or should I stick with the EVO standby?

IPS monitors (like the VS series from ASUS) tend to have more response time compared to TN monitors (VH series from ASUS), so if gaming is your 1st priority, I probably wouldn't go with the VS.

Hasbro has a weird way of deciding what gets a C&D. There's numerious unoffical 3rd party companies that make high end detailed transformer figures that look exactly like the characters and go for a few hundred bucks a piece. They call them by other names though not the Hasbro/Takara sanctioned ones, like Devastator became Hercules. Maybe these guys can slightly alter the designs abit and just not call them by their offical names.

I wonder if the MLP game guys could find a way to call their work a parody by giving their characters powers they don't have in the original or something, or making it more violent or what not. I'm sure they could find some sort of way to categorize it into the parody category that wouldn't take an enormous amount of work, but then again IANAL so I have no real clue. If anything, them not using any MLP characters at all might make me more inclined to actually take a look at the game and see if it's actually anything of worth.

That sucks for the devs and fans, not my kind of game but it seemed to be coming together nicely for those following it. That said, I can't help but laugh at the comments under that article where people utterly fail to understand why and how Hasbro is doing this and irately claiming it's illegal for Hasbro to c+d under trademark law. Even if you don't have any legal education, haven't they seen the many times similar fan projects have shut down? I agree that Hasbro mightve let them know earlier in the cycle, but there's a lot of armchair lawyering in there by people clearly punching over their weight class. Hasbro should look at Capcom and SFxMM as a way to bless the project and connect with a (maybe odd fringe) section of their fan base. Game seemed to respect the characters from what little I saw of it.

You could get a VH238H, same screen and response time as the venerable VH236H but LED backlight, so it'll be a little better overall monitor than the VH236H. I bought one recently and am quite happy with it.

Perhaps Make them all cats or something. Maybe not even go that far, just make slight recolors

I don't really understand "brony-dom" and wasn't sure if the cartoon was bizarre and had cartoon ponies juxtaposed with, I dunno, "teenage boy cartoon" subject matter or something that got it noticed. I might just be thinking of that Dexter's Lab episode where Dee gets turned into a (clearly MLP-referencing) pony and fights people.
