I thought people only did that in bad court dramas: "Now I may just be a simple countreh lawyah, but..." - "Obama wants to take our guns" (citation needed) - The part about how Jefferson and Washington would totally want us to have 50-round mags to blow away government agents, which is something I'm sure she came up with on her own and was not at all fed to her by her insane father. I'm also really loving pissed about that meme where the executive orders were for political gain or some poo poo. A tragedy happened, the president went "Wow that's terrible. Here's some suggestions on how to prevent something like that from happening again because obviously what we've got going now isn't working." How the gently caress does anyone see that as a "political gain"? Would these people have applauded if FDR stood up after Pearl Harbor and said "Well that sure sucked but I better not do anything because I don't want to push an agenda." A little bit of research shows that this "letter" is actually a copy-and-paste that's already made some rounds around the internet. A little bit more shows that the State of New Hampshire's General Court (There is no such thing as the "New Hampshire Assembly", an assembly is a specific meeting) had their ninth assembly of the year on January 18, and their tenth on January 25. Maybe they just had the date a little bit off? Well, it would have had to have been by more than a week. http://www.gencourt.state.nh.us/house/caljourns/calendars/2013/HC_9.pdf http://www.gencourt.state.nh.us/house/caljourns/calendars/2013/HC_10.pdf The only thing mentioned about guns anywhere is an ongoing discussion about gun possession being a term of bail (Why is that even up for discussion ) and something about "storage of firearms" under a "judiciary" heading, probably related to police or court procedure. I am anti-Obama and pro-guns but goddammit you lunatics stop making up bullshit, the internet exists. This took less than five minutes.

For added credibility, research a God Cures Gay group and disseminate information about them whenever the subject of gay people comes up. You know, so they can "get help". Over time, make increasingly explicit descriptions of gay stuff whenever you're talking about fighting off your urges. If you can't even post a video of a deaf kid being able to hear, or a story of an 8 year old dying in a fire and no one having the money to bury the kid, and you still get negative backlash, I'm not sure why anyone bothers putting anything on the internet, ever. I once considered putting up a video on Youtube on how to solve complex math problems in easy to understand manners, and I was hesitant. "Why would someone be hostile towards me for that?" I ignorantly questioned. What won't these people politicize if deaf kids/destitute 8 year olds burned alive aren't safe? Can you imagine the parents of these kids reading this poo poo?

The moment you mention anything that is even five degrees off, they instantly label you a liberal and someone who is evil. Don't people realize that there are more than 2 choices in life? Just because I don't like vanilla ice cream means I'm all for chocolate. Kinda-sorta. They would have been members of the "America First Committee." Although they were disbanded after Pearl Harbor made war undeniable, they kept us from helping Britain until the country was nearly beyond help. Not to mention that Charles Lindberg's nazi sympathizing as well as the groups intensely racist overtones made it pretty much a far far far right 'tea party' of its time. The thing about Pearl Harbor is that it came as a massive loving shock to everyone in the US - both in how badly we got caught with our pants down, and how much of a terror the idea that we've been outpaced in military technology/readiness by that island nation to the west that we tragically regarded as an inferior in our racist hubris. We also hadn't been attacked on our domestic soil in forever. Really the only people who could deny that we were at war were completely delusional die-hards. Also - it's worth noting that right wingers were fond of frequently claiming that the democratic party members and other critics of the Iraq war would have flaked on Pearl Harbor. But going to war with Iraq over 9-11 would be like going to war with Mexico over Pearl Harbor. The post 9-11 war with Iraq is one of our biggest historical blunders and should be regarded as such.
