Had a lot of fun with goons on wasteland tonight. Me (Bash) and Murdertron managed to find four hunters that we towed together and stuffed some atvs inside. Went on a bit of a convoy then died. Seriously this game is so much better with a group of people. Good times will play again.

Someone should make an Oregon trail mod where you have to escort a convoy from one end of the island to the other.

Turns out that the devs can remodel stuff... on alpha release day, there were really small diamond-shaped iron sights for the TRG-21, but the day after:Vespa posted:Yeah, these sights on the TRG are a bit unpractical and obstructive, I make note and we'll remodel them, this is easily done. Thanks for pointing it out! Vespa posted:Worry not, I understand the eye vs camera issue - without stereo vision or transparency, the model has to accomodate and be less obstructive. We did that in case of MX and Katiba sights, but TRG somehow eluded our attention.

I liked the diamond sight. Gives you a very precise view on your target. They should give one of the guns a hexagonal sight though, because the future.

Unfortunately, since servers crash all the time, all crates are currently good for are losing all your ammo and stripping attachments off your gun. Edit: Also, apparently towing a truck of equal size does not slow down your truck. We know this because I used a hunter with another hunter in tow to chase down, and then kill another guy in a hunter. VulgarandStupid fucked around with this message at 09:55 on Mar 16, 2013 |

Is the dev build more or less stable than the non-dev one? It kind of sucks being halfway decent for a change, just for the client to crash in my face.

Combat Pretzel posted:Is the dev build more or less stable than the non-dev one? It kind of sucks being halfway decent for a change, just for the client to crash in my face. Crash fixes get put into the development build before stable, though at the same time has a risk of said fixes not working. They also put optimizations and new content into the development build first, but those too carry the risk of crashing, though would be fixed quicker than if they existed on the stable build. Basically if you want a constant stream of up to date patches, go with Development. If you want to wait a week or two between patches, stay with stable.

The Dev build is definitely less stable then the stable branch. Some people are getting crashes every 20-30 minutes on it, some people it runs perfectly fine. That's kind of part of the deal for it

In fairness, the project lead outright said that the development builds don't go through internal QA at all. By the way, from one of the "diving module" spergs: Feint posted:Yeah. It appears to me that BIS has not implemented a way of lowering the amount of air you have when you are wearing a UBA. If you have a UBA on, then the remaining air level is always 1 or 100%, even if you set it lower. After 4 hours, most/all rebreathers will need to have their scrubber materials replaced. And once open circuit tanks are empty, they should give you no air. I want to be able to simulate this without having to remove the UBAs. For now, that's the workaround, but I don't like it.
