Brother Jonathan posted:Spoiler: Whoever made the video has no understanding of Hegelian philosophy. He doesn't even know how to pronounce "antithesis." Is Zizek coked out in that video? It seems pretty obvious he's on something at least. I didn't know he was a user. He only used a joke as an example, but it seems like Hegelian dialectic is the representation of a negative in speech or something? I have no idea. Something without something was his example, unless I misunderstood.

LAMENTS EVERYTHING posted:Well guys, looks like the golden age of streaming video is over. Google has just announced that starting today they are going to be deleting user and commercial videos off of YouTube and replacing it with scripted, in house content provided by JASH. Here's a video explaining the situation more: I think I've watched too many Tim and Eric clips, because you can basically tell whenever they're behind something else you're watching. Either that, or it suggests their zany approach is actually a little more formulaic than I'd like to admit.

Have some funny music, youtube thread. Here's Trevor Moore of the Whitest Kids U' Know, who's releasing a solo album in the next few days. This song is about the pope, and it doesn't pull any punches. Also hysterical. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6TxjrHPHypA Title is all the description it needs. Its ironic too, cause in a lot of these skits the muppet that doesnt like the product is straight up murdered with a gun (if you haven't watched this yet, yes, seriously). Capitalist coercion through threat of force, comrade! Also, apparently these commercials were extremely popular when they aired. Logan 5 fucked around with this message at 09:10 on Mar 23, 2013 |

Not youtube, but I'm part of a team that is working on a project launching TODAY for funding on kickstarter. The idea is to create a planetarium show where we focus on our motivations to explore. It will use nothing but real data, ranging from renders of the CMB to clinical imaging to high-resolution images of the cortex. Check it out at http://www.neurodome.org Here's one of our promo videos, which can also be found there. https://vimeo.com/62305539 https://vimeo.com/62305539 I also have a blog post about this here: http://joshuasalvi.com/2013/03/14/neurodome-i-introduction-and-ct-reconstruction/ I'll keep posting stuff here if you like it, as there are a lot of interesting things to discuss. I might make a thread to share more about the project if people are interested.

FYI I think you're supposed to ask for mod permission before you shill your kickstarter, but this looks like a really awesome project and I'll definitely throw my hat into the funding ring. I had no idea we had such amazingly detailed neural images that go down to individual neurons like that

Why even bother with goggles, then?
