It's not about getting everything functional, it's also about making sure the problem just won't pop up again in a few hours. You basically have a bunch of security professionals (both internal and external) communicating with each other and until they are all in agreeance that it's all clear, nothing is coming up.

Well, forcing 480p and then tweaking the DS and Move sensitivity fixed just about all of my control issues, but I didn't think the game could look any worse.

For those of us who play EVE, yeah its not unheard of. In 2011 CCP was targeted by Lulzsec along with several other companies, the full article is here. Also that link is from the EVE forums/site so that SP refund is most likely referring to EVE players who couldn't get any of their skills updated/queued (its much different than DUST's system). Obviously they said they'll compensate DUST but it won't be the same sort of compensation. PerrineClostermann posted:Thus incentivizing further attacks. Quick! Get your botnets ready, DDoS soon! With the only transferable item right now being player isk donations to a Corporation and vice versa, you aren't going to find many ways to scam. You could try making an alt corp, getting pubbies to join it and convincing them to donate for clones and then taking the money and running but that sounds like a lot of effort for very little gain. You can't even tax them yet. Best bet right now is to just hoard as much isk as possible and wait from them to announce player driven markets and eve to dust transactions, then purchase as much items you can for the inevitable price jump. If they ever do decide to do allow the transfer between the two games.

Edit - the second part of this is more PVP on the Market and not really "scamming" as I'm using the term. And they will allow transfer between the two games, its just sorting out the entire economy to a point where nothing gets messed horrendously on day one. I'm assuming earning ISK in Eve is quicker than earning ISK in Dust, but I only play Dust casually so I could be mistaken. My main thought is that it wouldn't affect Eve that must, but if an Eve player transferred ISK straight up to a DUST player, couldn't that keep them in the best dropsuits and gear for ages? Seems a bit tricky since it would be an artificial integration of economies.

It bugs me when people talk about Dust like it's Eve. What's the deal with the security concerns? It's not like you have to move assets to another system to set up for a push or whatever and risk spies finding out about it. You open a window and select Join Battle on whatever battle the directors came up with. And our tactics in-game? I doubt anyone is going to be pouring over our match vids looking for a weakness to exploit when our corp KDR is 1.2. And the scamming? What do we even have to entice people with? In Eve there's free skillbooks, training, and ops as part of one of the biggest powerblocks in the game. But in Dust we're nobodies. Big thanks for the AAR/vid tho. Edit - drat, pink, you need to start using ADS on that Tac rifle. Present fucked around with this message at 20:20 on Jun 3, 2013 |

I don't think they're keen to have ISK moving between the games like that any time soon, if ever. Dust players who aren't into Eve would be at a drastic disadvantage compared to Eve players. I mean, I never really figured out how to play Eve, and even my inactive account has a quantity of ISK that would be obscene in Dust terms. Dusts's progression would pretty much explode. Not to mention the fact that it doesn't have a real economy. I mean, the market isn't actually a market. ISK in Eve is treated as a currency, while in Dust it's simply another vector of character progression alongside AUR and SP. A lot of other stuff would have to change before transactions across the games would make sense.
